Fabulous service right from the beginning. We were seated and when we explained it was our first time they were excited as well. The atmosphere is amazing with good music, vibes, and decor. Tables were cleaned off by a team and everyone was smiling and happy to be there. We had the combination for 2, and it was the perfect amount. Definitely going back again and I highly recommend it for date night or a get together.
Sizzle and Smile at Kook: Vancouver's Korean BBQ Delight! nn Made my reservation at Kook two weeks in advance, buzzing with anticipation. The place did not disappoint, bustling with a vibrant atmosphere. Their BBQ, especially the non-marinated Galbi, ranks in my top 3 in Vancouver! nn The side dishes, endlessly refillable and scrumptious, added a delightful touch to the meal, enhancing the authentic Korean BBQ experience. nn‍ A huge shout-out to Javier, our star server, whose humor and helpfulness elevated our dining experience to new heights. His service alone is a reason to come back! nn Paired our meal with some fantastic drinks, and the food, especially with Javier's recommendations, was an absolute hit. Already planning my next visit to relive this culinary joy and the exceptional service at Kook!
Party of six for late lunch on Mother’s Day. Love their colourful Korea side dishes. We ordered combo for four plus extra side dishes. Good portion of meat includes two boneless beef short ribs, beef short ribs, Beef Bulgogi, chicken and pork chops. The beef short ribs were so tender and juicy. The combo also came with house salad, Gunmandoo deep fried Korean dumplings Japchae Korean fried glass noodles, rice and Korean soy bean paste soup. They were all very tasty. We had also ordered Gyeran Jjim steamed egg in claypot, corn cheese and Ddeokbokki Korean rice cake in spicy sauce. Portion size was good. We ended up packed away few boxes of food. Servers were attentive. Seats were standard Korean BBQ restaurant style. Make sure reserve table ahead of time.
May ‘24 UPDATE: Came back to Kook with a party of 6. Service and food was amazing as ever. The Combo for 6 was just perfect for 6 adults. The Sweet and Sour Pork that came with the combo was sooo gooood. Never had S&S pork made like that. Keep up the great food.nnApril ‘24 - Finally made it in and the service and food were amazing.nnCould never get a table for 2 during dinner hours walk-in. Online reservations are only good for 4 or more. So we did walk-in at 2pm and got seated right away. nnWe had the Premium Beef Combo For Two that could have easily fed three. There was so much food left. nnThe beef was marinated nicely and tender too. My favourite was the Yangnyeom Galbisal.nnThe Ggori Gomtang soup was also very tasty. I was a little disappointed the it wasn’t whole ox tail but sliced up meat instead.nnThis is definitely one of the best Korean BBQ Restaurants in Vancouver. I can see why it’s always busy.
At Kook BBQ, the friendly staff make sure you have everything you need and help you pick the tastiest dishes. The place has a great vibe, and you get to cook your own food right at your table, which is really fun. Plus, the side dishes are super tasty, and they keep bringing more if you want. It’s a great spot for good food and a good time.
