Had a great experience here. We were in town for a couple hockey games with our team. We all arrived by bus at the same time and they were so well prepared that check-in for ~35 people took less than five minutes. They also found space for the kids' hockey gear so we didn't have to have it stinking up our rooms.nnThe best part is that my son left his winter coat at the hotel. Without me even asking yet they shipped it to our house, the coat almost beat me back to St. Albert, this was really appreciated.
Overall, a fairly decent hotel. Check in was great. Cookies by the front desk were warm and tasted awesome. I had upgraded so room was a good size. Some Microtel rooms can be small, but mine was a good size.nnThe next morning, when I went to shower, I noticed some hair in the shower area that was missed on cleaning. Not a super big deal, just rinsed it out and kept going.nnI did find the breakfast area small and not a lot of seating so if it was busy, I guess you’re eating breakfast back at your room. It did surprise me that the lady looking after the breakfast area was not in some form of a hotel uniform but in just a pair of jogging pants and t-shirt. Honestly, I just thought she was another guest in the hotel getting breakfast until she went out back to the supply room. I was also surprised too that the person making the breakfast wouldn’t have a hair net on as they had longer hair.nnOverall, not a bad hotel, but when you’re charged $250 a night for a hotel, you do tend to set your expectations a bit higher than what I found on this visit.
Stayed here for a fourth time. I like the cleanliness and having a good restaurant next door that gives microtel customers a 10% discount on meals. This is a nice touch!nThe breakfast at microtel has room for improvement. The sausages are horrible. The bacon isn’t so bad but it’s like paper. It would also be nice to see real glassware in the rooms instead of paper cups.nI do like this hotel. It’s clean and in a good location I will stay there again.nI have addressed the breakfast sausage Quality issues many times now, at least three or four and they don’t seem very interested in getting it fixed, they sure love reviews but do nothing with the information that is presented in them.
Building is a bit too close to the highway. The noise from trucks going by make a bit of noise at night. Breakfast seems like is always crappy scrambled eggs.nThe gym on the other hand is pretty good. Machines cover pretty much all muscle groups.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, making for a very pleasant experience.nnI highly recommend the Microtel Hotel, especially due to the outstanding service provided by Rica. She truly made my stay memorable, and I look forward to returning in the future.nn5 stars!
