I’ll start by saying the Mezes olive oil that they have at each table is incredible. It’s so aromatic, and embodies the full flavour of olives.nnThe food is decent. Calamari and pita with dips were probably my favourite dishes. The grilled vegetables were a bit too burnt quite blackened, but the meat and seafood dishes were good.nnNo reservations but we came 15 min after opening for lunch on the weekend and got a spot.
My wife and I finally got to eat at the new location for Mezes. Every other time we’ve gone there we’ve had our young children and it continued as they aged up through to adult children. It was just the two of us for a romantic birthday dinner for my wife.nnThe new location was very nice and the balcony was an improvement over their last location down the street. The interior has the raised dining area very similar to the old location.nnThe food, the service and the atmosphere has never disappointed and continues to provide consistent, good food, and great service. Our waiter has worked at the restaurant for a couple of years and was very friendly.nnWe recommend you check it out. They do not take reservations.
Just finished dinner at this restaurant… very disappointing. Food was okay. Prices were outrageous. $8 to switch rice for grilled veggies? Yikes. Service was incredibly slow and it felt like the servers were just running back and forth, almost ignoring tables unless you called out to them. No friendliness, no “welcome, how are you guys?” But worst of all was the noise level in this restaurant. I have never been in such a loud and chaotic restaurant. A mall food court is quieter than this. They play loud music so everyone is shouting over it. Servers crashing plates and glassware. Also, why don’t they put salads in bowls instead of spilling salad dressing out of the plates and all over the floor? The salad was soggy and very sour all vinegar, hardly any salt. The only good thing at this restaurant was the olive oil on the table and the warm bread they serve with the saganaki. I had this as 2 stars but removed one because my ears are still ringing. Would not recommend this place! Go anywhere else!
Last night, we had an amazing dinner at Mezzes Restaurant with our friends. Everything was perfect—the food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making the whole experience even better. The service was excellent, and the guy who served our food was really friendly and nice. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be coming back again soon!nThank you
The food was absolutely excellent! We ordered the grilled octopus which melts in your mouth, it is just that tender. We also go the small dip platter, lightly battered calamari, and chicken souvlaki skewers. Everything was perfection, the dips were all excellent - especially the refreshing tatziki. The pita was warm and soft, the calamari was perfectly seasoned, with the right amount of crisp, and had the best texture not chewy at all! The grilled chicken souvlaki skewers were tender and yummy. I took notice of the moussaka that other people were ordering and it looked divine - I’d definitely order it next time! The atmosphere is beautiful, we loved the outdoor patio and the interior is also very elegant. The hostess that seated us was lovely. However, our waiter not so much. He was a middle aged man with dark hair that did not have a friendly attitude, we felt very disregarded by him and noticed he was nice to tables with older age groups - our guess is he does not like young people lol. Other than the careless waiter, everything else was amazing and we would definitely come back but ask for a different server.
