My new favourite Pho place. The sandwiches are awesome too. Staff is very friendly. Food came quickly. The server even remember the first time that we came in and he also remember that it was night time. This is a very romantic and peaceful little spot to have lunch or dinner.
Delicious Vietnamese food in a cozy cafe setting. Vietnamese coffees were not too sweet, strong in flavour and left a lasting taste on the tongue. Banh Mis had soft, fresh bread with good meat and veggies. Chicken wings were crispy and came with a delicious sauce.
Saw another review comparing Merci Beaucoup to Au Petite. I'm a fan of the latter but I think the prices are reasonable given the inflation and rising costs. Food tastes fresh and clean. Beef curry and beef stew comes with plenty of meat though the sauce is a bit too sweet.
Cảm ơn !! Pho-sho, that was pho-nomenal! I ordered the Phở Chay but I unexpectedly was given the Bun Chay. Albeit not what I was expecting at all, this tasted flawless. Fresh, zesty, aromatic and light with some dope sidekick peanut sauce made this a knockout meal! I wolfed down every last bite and didn't hesitate, this was an all round great dining experience and I really dig this joint its super quaint, great aesthetics and has a real comfy and homey vibe with solid veggie options. I'm glad I took the servers recommendation of one Gỏi cuốn Vietnamese Fresh Shrimp Salad Roll, although this was also super yummy, heavenly stuffed and to die for with a peanut satay that I dream of, it was the perfect amount for a very plentiful portion fit for a king. Next time I'll order the Phở Chay and hope that arrives so I can taste it haha. Regardless, staff are great and very friendly. Support local businesses!
Bahn mi sandwiches are on point. Good amount of filling and very flavorful. The curry beef noodle and beef stew were also delicious, reminiscent of Au Petit. Only negative is there is no air conditioning so it does get warm inside.
Not a real pho guy. More Ramen fellow. However. This was delicious. Fresh. Great looking. The restaurant was able to accommodate a custom order. Pretty happy I have to say. This place hasn’t been here that long. And there is another pho place half a block away. I like the comfortable setting and the friendly staff. The spring rolls were done to absolute perfection.
My family were regulars of Au Petit Cafe since I was a young child. Unfortunately, Merci Beaucoup Cafe is nothing like Au Petit. I find Merci Beaucoup to be overpriced with mediocre portion sizes. The food LOOKS like Au Petit Cafe appearance wise but it’s not the same at all. Banh Mi Dac Biet $7.50 - The ham and bacon are so thinly sliced. I have never seen such small protein portions in a banh mi. Lemongrass Chicken on Rice $16 additional cost for egg $2 - The most expensive lemongrass chicken on rice we’ve ever had. The chicken thigh was thinly sliced. It looked as if they took 1 chicken piece and sliced it in half down the middle. The rice portion was a small scoop of rice thinly spread out on the plate. Not worth $18 whatsoever. Banh Uoc $15 - The fish sauce was so salty. Usually with banh uoc, the nuoc mam is a little lighter as the dish is doused in sauce.
Most authentic mom and pop shop on commercial drive. Got the bun cha ca and beef noodle soups. The spring rolls are a MUST TRY! Chicken wings remind me of Phnom Penh but bigger in order size and cheaper. Interior gives me a homey and rustic vibe which is unique in its own way in Little Italy commercial drive. Will definitely come back with my friends to rave about this soupy goodness of a place
Small Vietnamese restaurant on commercial drive. Fresh and delicious food. Convenient location. Reasonable price. Well divided seating for covid prevention. Will be back to try their famous Viet-French sandwiches.
Family friendly restaurant. Excellent food! Everything was primarily 5 stars as they were exceptionally fresh and tasted better than other places. They make bake banh mi bagauette fresh in house. The pho wasn't too impressive so that's the only point deduction.
