I despise going in to this place. My last visit for sure took place a little while ago. My husband and I recently went in to pick up a few items to make some home repairs. We were having difficulties in finding what we were looking for and asked an employee standing near by. We asked her the question and she explained that she could not help in that area but would get someone who could. After waiting a short time an older gentleman approached and we again explained what we needed only to be met with attitude and tones with how we had decided to make the repairs. I was stunned and said thank you and walked away without saying another word. This man started to follow me down the aisle to which I responded that it was unnecessary to follow me as the conversation was over as I continued further down the aisle. I stopped at one point to look over my shoulder to look for my husband and here comes this guy again trying to explain his position. At that point I put down all the things I was going to purchase and turned on my heel to leave the building all the while he is following me to the front of the store. Never again.
I went to Menards looking for some different lengths of 1x4s I found some really beautiful lumber there that I didn't expect them to even have and as far as I am concerned I will shop at Menards rather than home Depot
Menards needs to be aware of a situation that happened at the Sheboygan Wi store. My husbands company placed an order in April for a Clients new deck. The order was placed in April of 2022 and to take advantage of the 11% off promo. Several months went by, and the project was delayed, so my and my husband went to pick up the "part of the order", about 3 weeks ago. When he arrived at the store, the original order had been restocked. A clerk was able to pull part of the order and within a half an hour, he was on his way. A few days ago, there were issues with the project so the Home Owners just wanted to return the wood and get a refund. When they got to the store, with the unused wood, they dropped it off and were told the could only get a store credit, FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF THE PROJECT. It was over $4,000. The clerk and managers at the store said it was beyond 90 days. Why would a large big box store such as Menards not want to work with a customer and only give a store credit?? It was not a special order. If we new that this was going to be made into such an issue, my husband would have cancelled the order and repurchased it the day he picked it up. I know of no other company that charges you and then holds you to this degree of accountability for a partial order that you do not have in your possession for less than 3 weeks. The 90 day return policy should have been explained more clearly. Things happen on projects that are unforeseen. This is extremely poor customer service on Menards' part. Clearly Menards is only in it for the money. This situation needs to be resolved.
I was able to find what I needed, when I needed help to get what I bought into my truck all the cashier had to do was signal and ring a bell and the manager got someone super fast.
I moved to Sheboygan about 3 years ago and found myself in renovation mode almost immediately. I came in looking for paint. Not just any paint, the color had to be just right and hold up to the task. The Staff in the paint section were AWESOME, helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. They helped me created my color, and pick a base.The end product was gorgeous! Here we are 2 and a half years later and I have decided to include the fence. To my dismay, during storage the label was damaged. I went back to the wizards at Menards hoping they could replicate the magic. I found myself face to face with the same magical people who made it happen the first time, with the same results. Thank you Larry and Drew!! I will continue to seek their wisdom for future projects, and highly recommend their expertise.
Extremely upsetting experience at Menards. I ordered railing for a deck that I was building and it didn’t meet the expectations of what I was looking for so I went to return it. All items were unopened and still new. I originally ordered it at the West Bend store where they told me there would be a 25% restocking fee because it was special order but if I found a store that had those items in stock, then they could waive that fee. I drove over an hour to the Sheboygan store to return the items. I explained the situation to a customer service desk employee, Josh. He was very helpful and said we’d get everything going. I drove to the lumber yard, dropped it off, came back inside, and started the refund. That’s when I found it they still wanted to charge me the 25%. I asked why this would be the case after we already discussed this when I got there. Josh then got Kristina who was also very nice and explained the situation again. She called the GM Craig who said no to helping me with the situation. She then asked him to come speak with me about it. Craig showed up and was very condescending. He said there was nothing that could be done and that a return like this is actually an inconvenience for them and ends up costing them more than 25% in the end. He said these items would go in the bargain area like the rest of the items they had like these that are “stock”. I asked him how could that be if they’re charging full price online. He said they can’t do anything and said they could load it back into my car or charge me the 25%. I was ready to purchase all the lighting fixtures for my new house and more flooring from Menards, but they will no longer be receiving any more of my business.
I really like this store I always find good deals when I come here and I've even considered getting a job here. Today we just came to get discounted tickets for the Renaissance Faire but we also looked around at the rugs and stuff and we asked one of the workers for help if they had a certain product which they do not carry but they were very helpful!
I love menards. They have everything from dog food to appliances ,hand tools ,to cleaning products.
Only one flaw. Single packs of scotch tape way across the store from the wrapping paper. I'll stop at Walmart.
Customer service great product bags leak. Purchased 5 50Lb sandblast.all 5 bags 80% it was pouring on floor they did tape it up but no discount
