I visited the clinic in 2019, not knowing that I had a severe, life-threatening lung infection. Yes, I had a long wait time in the waiting room, but there were a lot of people there to be seen. I’m simply thankful you had capacity for me! Thank you to the wonderful RN at this walk-in clinic who recognized the symptoms immediately and had me seen by the physician within 2 minutes of being triaged into a room. And thank you to the wonderful doctor who knew the symptoms and called the hospital physician on-call. I was seen and admitted immediately to the hospital although it was at capacity, and I received excellent care during my several-day stay. Recovery took about 6 months, but I made it there .
I honestly love the lady at the front desk. She's very kind and seems to care about people. The MOAs seem to be good at their jobs and I've had various doctor experiences here so rating the doctors is a challenge as it is a different doctor every day. Overall, I like their system of getting a time at the beginning and middle of the day. So much better than spending 2 hours in a waiting room with sick people.
This is by far the WORST walk-in clinic I've ever been too!!! They turn away patients after ONLY accepting between 10-15 patients, they refuse to do Driver's medical for seniors my father, who moved from Saskatchewan last month who NEEDS his driver's medical done to receive his license was turned away, twice!!!!!, you cannot book an appointment, they refuse to tell you which doctors are on staff that is pathetic!, and you have to wait 1 hour before the doors open to even know you can get in to see a doctor, maybe outside btw. Oh, and they close for 1 FULL hour for lunch, which is pathetic! Look at the walk-in clinics in Red Deer, they do not operate like this!!! Absolutely pathetic service for healthcare!!! EXTREMELY disappointed in Lacombe's Healthcare!!! We NEED more doctors and at least 2 more walk-in clinics who are open longer than 8 hours and an office that doesn't close their doors and refuses to see ppl after 10am or 2pm!!! PATHETIC!!!!
The desk staff has always been friendly and helpful. Get there early if you want to get in. But I have always received great care when I have to go in.
Dr was awesome. Nurses and front desk people are terrible. Made my 10 year old girl wait outside in the Cole for 3 hours... then when asked to come in from the freezing cold was told well I guess and got bumped to the bottom of the wait list. Very unprofessional to leave a 10 year old to outside in the cold for hours then to bump her to the bottom of the list
Showed up at 3:00 no cars in parking lot nurse put full sign up as I was walking to door. Thanks for thinking of your patients.
Just go to red deer or ponoka. the reception can’t be bothered to awnser phones. Terrible walk in.
Not even a "Walk-In" clinic. You have to call for appointment or stand in the cold for hours until they let you in.
They literally sit there 20 mins after opening drinking timhortons gabbing.
The quality of this clinic is dependent on the day and staff working there. Some staff, receptionists and nurses are lovely while others brush you aside and treat you like a number. Last month, I went in to see a doctor to discuss essential medication that was making me nauseous every time I took it. I explained my symptoms in detail and asked what we could do to remedy it. Rather than listening to what I had to say, the doctor told me I was "running out of options" and changed my prescription to one that was 4x as expensive, which I couldn't afford also something I had mentioned to him. The following week at work, I mentioned this to a colleague and she said she had also struggled with this same medication side-effect and told me how to remedy it. It's been about a month now and my affordable meds are working perfectly. That doctor was unprofessional and rude and I will not be returning on days he is on duty.
