Story

McLeod Veterinary Hospital was established in 1982, in Winnipeg Manitoba, by Dr. Bob Newfield. Since that time, our facility has been continually evolving to provide you with the most up to date equipment and techniques. As our patients cannot speak for themselves, client/doctor communication is essential. Our mission at McLeod Veterinary Hospital is to provide the best possible health care in a professional and compassionate manner!

We have been talking our fur babies here for several years. They are extremely helpful and very patient. We have a bull terrier that gets aggressive in the puppy doctor office so he needs to be sedated. Dr K takes his time until I know Ras is ready. Our cat Izzy needed to be cleaned out 2 times now due to constipation, I did take her animal hosp on main which was the biggest mistake. He wanted to put my cat down but didnt tell me i found out from the vet tech with the estimate papers! Which put me into a spiral of emotions and tears. I knew what my cat needed and he was not listening to me just kept saying she will suffer. I paid that vet over $400 for him to slap a fentanyl patch on her tail and give her a tiny bit of fluids. I got my Izzy in the McLeod Vet the next day or 2 and Dr K knew what do and assured me Izzy would live a great many more years and is on medication for life. I completely trust this vet and all of the staff, they are all very patient, caring and knowledgeable! He was also very understanding of our financial situation and was very accommodating, which its rare to have a vet agree to do pymts! I will always recommend McLeod Vet. Izzy is still here and very healthy and happy she just turned 6 ...these are all of our fur babies
The staff here are wonderful. They are always patient and willing to discuss your situation to make sure you're getting the best advice and food for your pet. I've even had the vet come out to talk to me and help figure some things out. The people here are always friendly and helpful.
Very friendly vets who aren’t trying to push extra stuff on you. They make helpful suggestions and when you decline something there is no argument or sales pitch so it feels genuine and honest in the type of care my vet recommends. They also practice prevention care which is a really nice thing to see as my last vet never did. So they will tell you basically how to avoid coming into the vet for more bills and procedures. It’s pretty quick in and out and I always felt listened too and given plenty of time to ask questions and feel respected here. If you are a new pet owner or looking for a new vet this is a great option.
This place is great generally speaking but Beware of ur pets veterinarian!!!!! I was blacklisted from adopting from any shelter because of a misunderstanding between my senior cats doctor and I he doesn’t work Here anymore reason being 8 years ago family and I went out of town and my parents forgot to flush the drain cleaner in the toilet, cat used to always drink from toilet bowl, and because of that they falsely pinned & blacklist me!!! Thanks guys! Never ever gonna bring any animal into this place! I highly suggest you don’t choose this establishment for you’re pets needs.
Very happy, they always take great care of my dog and all the staff are very pleasant and nice to talk to. Would recommend to anyone.
The staff and Veterinary Dr's here are amazing. They're very helpful and care about the animals very much. The ladies that work at the front desk and answer the phones are patient and kind, they take the time to listen. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Update: This place is still amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful.
This place is amazing! We’ve been bringing our dogs here for years and this is a vet we often use when fostering as well. They’re always so nice and informative and you cB tell they love animals
Amazing team and excellent service! We have been coming here since 2009 with our first dog and continue to bring our 3 dogs because of the exceptional care that we receive.
