McKiernan Luncheonette

Spacious restaurant with a charming decor. We were a group of 6 and ordered several plates to share. My favourite was the cauliflower with wild mushroom. It was a whole cauliflower baked with mushrooms topping. The chicken was good but I find it rather expensive. Order some brioche to dip in the flavourful gravy! I really liked their salad too, especially their tomatoes salad which was the special of the day. Very refreshing. Not too impressed by their Rigatoni. Staffs were patient and attentive. Good place!

The few times I came here in the past we would order 2-3 dishes to share and that was that. The food felt homey but slightly elevated for what it was. This time, we were a group of 7 people and we decided to order many different dishes to share. This was, by far, the best experience we've had at McKiernan up to date! Being able to taste a variety of different foods made the meal that much more enjoyable. The heavy usage of butter and olive oil makes it difficult to order just one plate and eat just that all alone to yourself. That is the reason why I highly suggest going in a gang and sharing a bunch of different things. Everything was on point and oh so savoury.

All the plates were delicious and well thought out, just the right portion size as well! The wines our waiter recommended were on point and fit our meal perfectly. The desserts are simple but super comforting and exactly what you want to finish your meal with. The ambiance is great, it's a really beautiful space for special events and big groups. We'll definitely be back !

I really like the vibe here and the big open space. Came here on a whim and have mixed feelings about the experience overall. Positives : the service was amazing, our waiter was friendly and attentive and spoke very nicely to my young kids. The food portions were huge. Location has free parking after 5pm. Venue is really nice. Negatives: the food was generally pretty bland. Nothing we had was mind-blowing. We ordered the pork schnitzel and the rigatoni. The schnitzel can feed a whole family on its own but nothing stood out about it and I felt like it was really dry somehow. The rigatoni was lacking taste. Cool restaurant that I'm glad we tried, but overall not great for me, especially at that price. Parking: Free after 5pm

Ah, McKiernan. First off, this place has one of the cutest decors in town. It’s a big loft with high ceilings. Maybe it’s a little tricky to get to without a car, but the food and experience are worth the hassle. I’ve been three times so far, and the food, wine and service are all excellent. The donuts are delicious so I would definitely order those. They have different specials depending on when you go, so I always look forward to what I could order next. Can’t wait!

Second time at McKiernan and it does not disappoint! Space is open, high ceiling, pretty, lots of open space. Food was yummy! Our only comment is that the pork belly was mostly fat and practically no meat. Otherwise everything was tasty. Yummy donut!

Wonderful evening amongst dear friends sharing loads of laughs while stuffing our faces with unpretentious delicious food family style. The fried chicken balls were delicious, the beet salad was delightful and the plum donut was a pleasant surprise. Great service, tasty food and nice ambiance… Thanks Mckiernan.

We went there for brunch. Their menu is more of a lunch menu in my opinion. The food is okay. It's spacious, nicely grévistes with a boat theme. Friendly service. There's no mocha available on the menu, only cappuccino and latte as a minor detail. The donuts are definitely worth a try!

Food was very good, but it felt like staff was trying to push us out the whole time. If you eat earlierfor us 6PM the waitress made it very clear we had only two hours to eat and generally seemed annoyed to be serving. It made it a less than pleasant experience and since there’s nothing else around it can make for a short evening. Nice food and cocktails otherwise though.

Delicious and I’m not just throwing this word around. Our server picked the menu for the whole table 8 people and every single one of us was overjoyed. The food is to die for!!! The vibe of this restaurant is perfect…I will absolutely go back. We loved everything about our evening there!
