Came to experience Philippino dining. Service was good. Waitress was pleasant. Restaurant was slow. In fact we were the only guests in the restaurant. Food came quickly and tasted great. Would recommend dining here.
Service was great, it wasn't slow at all. A great family dining experience. And the food was so good!Food: 5/5
It was packed when I was there, a bit short staffed so food arrived a little bit longer than usual but weekends usually are busy for this restaurant though. Overall pretty good authentic filipino food.
Excellent customer services Delicious authentic Filipino cuisine As soon as you step into the restaurant it takes you back home in the Philippines Crispy pata & kare- kare must try
Food was alright. Service was fine, very quiet in the afternoon. On the pricey side for sure. Update* I was in the area so I figured I’ll order off their website for pick up. I parked outside and waited around 20mins before it was time to walk in. Upon entering and letting the employee know I was there for pick up. There was no order! Apparently their website doesn’t send them the online orders. I had to wait an additional 10mins while they scrambled to put together my small/easy order. Very disappointed.
I remember when Max’s had so many customers and workers back in the years but now they’re slowly going out of business. I ate here recently and now I know why. Apart from their dry chicken and small portions/servings of food, the servers are completely rude and have no sign of respect. Me and my family, fellow filipinos, came in to eat and had to wait for a server to bring us to our table for around 5 minutes. The other server just stared at us while we were waiting, even giving occasional side eyes. When our order was being taken the server didn’t even smile once. It might seem like a small mishap but it affects what the customer feels in the restaurant and I know the servers know better than to be rude. You would think that fellow filipinos would be nice to their kapwa pinoys but in reality they do the exact opposite. So I suggest you find a different restaurant that serves better tasting food for more reasonable prices/portions and with better customer service. Thanks, will not be coming back.
My wife and I went for brunch today and our server is Cristian. It was a very disappointing visit. Below are our concern: - Were the second table when they open at 11am. We ask for coffee the server told us they were out of coffee - Cristian give us regular menu but didn’t offer some brunch menu. Which we came here for brunch. - I ask for tea. No specific Flavor he told us they don’t have tea - Cristian doesn’t know how to handle guest needs and concern. Beware he might be one of your cause for your bad review - Cristian should know what other item to suggest if they were out for something - I ask for chilli, yes I got the chilli but it’s frozen. - Honestly it’s hard to recommend Max’s specially if Cristian will be there server. Big thanks to Grace for accommodating us very nicely.
This is one of my favorite restaurant in Edmonton that we usually visit. I totally love all the food that they bring us in the table. So special and so authentic Filipino delicacy. If granted to go back again in here, I would not hesitate to do so. Bring your family and friends to spend your time in here and have a great time in this place. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.
Servers were nice and attentive however the quality of the food was dissappointing. The last time I went there it was really good however when I came back to check it doesn’t live up to its name na. I ordered the same food sisig & dinuguan as before a few months ago. They served in SMALL portions, even for take out which is unbelievable. I wouldn’t mind paying more if the food was good but right now it’s not even worth going to this place anymore.
Not authentic filipino food. Ordered Kare Kare, and the parts used for the dish was not even the AUTHENTIC parts typically used and was charged $24 for it. Plus, sauce is supposed to be brown cause of the peanut sauce and it was yellow, so definitely not authentic. Ordered bulalo, and even the soup base was not from the bone marrow which is what you’re supposed to use to get that flavor, and was charged $30. It looked more like nilaga and even then, just bad. Server even charged us $1.00 for extra fish paste bagoong. Sago’t gulaman was so watered down and had about two tablespoons of very small tapioca and gulaman. It was $5.00 each. Overall, this isnt authentic filipino food. Such a shame to what Max’s restaurant was truly in the Philippines.
