Absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic Italian. The price point is high though. Pizza ranges from $18 to 26, pasta ranges from $26 to 36, and just "Bread and Butter" is $12. Be expected to splurge on the meal as if you were dining downtown in Yorkville. Spacious and classy environment. We visited during their soft opening period - no alcohol licence yet. Their grand opening is Sept 8, 2022.
Had an awesome experience. Restaurant is very trendy/modern. Popped by on Saturday afternoon. Our server was polite and very well informed on the menu. Manager came by to say hello and had some suggestions for us. We ended up ordering the Pepperoni Lovers and the Spicy Chicken Rose Rigatoni.... And without a doubt I can honestly say that BOTH of these dishes were the best Italian dishes we've eaten in the GTA in a very long time. We were at Grazie's for my birthday 2 weeks ago and that was such a disappointment compared to our amazing experience here at Mattarello.
If your looking for a really good authentic Italian restaurant that is not a franchise, do yourself a favor and please try this place. Compared to your milestones, moxies and etc this place is a breathe of fresh air. The meat sauce in their spicy chicken rigatoni was delicious! The grilled calamari was great too. Seeing older reviews who had misgivings on prices, I don't see an issue as your paying for quality, and quality was definitely on point. Great indoor decor and the service was top notch. Server was also courteous and attentive. So skip the franchise restaurant and try this place out.
Stepping inside you will appreciate the clean & elegant décor. What stood out to us was the grilled calamari and mushroom & truffle pasta, it reminded my wife of home Italy. The pizza Margherita wasn't bad but way too much sauce, will order with less marina next time. The portions are a bit on the small side but overall we enjoyed our time there, will be going back for another date night.
Absolutely delicious!! My partner and I had a great experience at Osteria. Not only did we receive great service, but the dishes were amazing. We ordered the grilled calamari, and although I’m not a fan of olives and capers, I actually really enjoyed the dish and the sauce, and the calamari was perfectly done. The mushroom truffle pasta was sooo good!!! I’m usually very picky with truffle and feel it can be a hit or miss, but this dish had a perfect balance of truffle flavour and was loaded with a lot of mushrooms. I think this has got to be my new favourite Italian restaurant in Markham/Richmond hill!!
Ambiance and overall environment is great. Ingredients were good too. But pasta and appetizer portion were small unfortunately. Pizza was nothing to write home about in terms of the sauce. As much as I want to support local businesses. Their pricing is just too aggressive for the portions. You are better off making the trek to Parcheggio or the likes.
Okay, the food here is bonkers. Everything tastes amazing and I can't get over it. We went for dinner on Saturday and then back the next day for lunch. The Mushroom Truffle & Honey Pizza is a must-try, but everything we ate there was great!Food: 5/5
We went there for dinner twice We enjoyed the pizza not so much the pasta. We tried the Duck Confit Ravioli, it was okay. The service was good though. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the seating.. We had a great dinner time thereFood: 3/5
Beautiful little restaurant that opened in September 2022. Simple but intricate menu. Good service, good vibes. Closed Mon & Tues. The shrimp and lobster pasta could have been heavier with the lobster taste as well perhaps a few pieces of lobster would be good. Scallops could use a bit of seasoning. Shrimps we're good. Truffle pasta was flavourful and nicely done. Calamari were tender and flavourful. Lovely place to wine down and relax. Servers were lovely and attentive.
Dinner with girlfriends. Small space but love the decor. Really enjoyed the squid ink arancini; light flavour and delicate crisp coating. Also liked the insalata, well dressed, good variety of textures with goat cheese, different greens and nuts. I could eat this salad every day. Parmesan truffle fries. Loved. Cannot go wrong with fries, salt, parmesan and truffle. I personally prefer pasta and pizza crust a little softer, with more chew and bounce. But overall, good dinner experience.
