Massa Cafe Italiano
"At Massa Cafe Italiano, we feel that food is not something that should be mass produced or frozen. Instead, we take what we like to call “the artisan approach”. Our food is made-to-order using only the highest quality ingredients and handcrafted with the attention to detail that it deserves. You’ll taste the difference! We’re dedicated to giving you an authentic Italian experience without the cost of a pricey plane ticket. You’ll be greeted with the smell of fresh roasted coffee, a rainbow of gelato, a wide variety of genuine Italian dishes, and, most importantly, a smile. Your Massa experience isn’t complete without excellent customer service. If you’re not completely satisfied with your visit, we haven’t done our job."

The best gelato place. We got different flavors, and basically every flavor hit the spot. Super cute spot, definitely would highly recommend it. They have loads of options for food, drinks, and dessert! Ambiance is super chic as well and the staff was super friendly and professional!Recommended dishesSmall Gelato
No pic of the Gelato, but it was darn good! The Margherita pizza and 8 Finger Cavatelli pasta we're pretty good. My husband and I split both dishes and we're satisfied with the portions. Overall, this is a great spot! And will be back to try more Gelato flavors
Place has always be great to go to especially growing up in Elmwood Park. I moved away but whenever I'm in the area I have to stop by and eat here. Absolutely amazing. Wish they had a second location by me.Food: 5/5
Place so busy and worth the wait..it so delicious .Owner and staff are great. The pizza is so delicious along with everything else they have on menuFood: 5/5
I have been here about 5 times over the last 8 months or so. True Italian food here has always been incredible. Up and down the menu But even better is the Award Winning World Class Gelato. The owner competed and won various Gelato competitions in Italy and brought the winning delight back to Massa Cafe Italiano for all to enjoy. This is one of those small Cafes hidden from the masses, that must be shared. Spread the "Massa Cafe Italiano" word. Parking: It's on a very busy Street, IL. 64 North Ave. parking can be difficult at times. But circling the block and a little patience will be rewarded once your enjoying the food. Enjoy.
Update: I dropped a star rating down for the loud irritating techno music I had to endure while eating there. Does not match with the Italian theme of the place, plus that I mentioned it's irritating.... Great panzerotti, I like the polenta fries and the gelato is the best I've probably had. Tried the Red Nonna's Meatball Pizza, thought it was very good. I also tried the sausage and red roasted pepper Pizza it was fantastic.
This place never misses. One of our favorite neighborhood spots. You must try their Mazza mozzarella sticks- so good. And then their pizza, pasta and panzerottis while you’re at it. You won’t be disappointed.
I order lunch for my staff and self from this restaurant often at least once a week. We were at a loss when they were recently closed for remodeling, but they are back and better than ever. Literally, everything on the menu that we have tried is excellent, from the delicious drinks chai tea is one of the best I've had to the chicken vodka buratta sandwich. The serving sizes are generous, and the service is top-notch! I look forward to trying the rest of the menu offerings.
My family has been in EP for over 30 years and Massa is easily one of my favorite spots to eat. From panini’s to pastas to gelatos, you can’t go wrong. I cannot get a panini without their polenta fries. So good. Now, they sell pizza which is some of the best frozen pizza I’ve ever had. I always have one in stock in my freezer. Great food and friendly staff.
I’m from new york and i decided to take a little vacation to Chicago. I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try and boy i fell in love. I order the vodka sauce pizza and it was a 10/10. I also order the choose 2 and got half of the chicken cesar salad and the primo panini. The salad was so delicious and everything tastes fresh. The sandwich was by far my favorite item and if i’m not mistaken the young lady concepcion if i read her name tag right made my panini, the presentation and placements of the ingredients in the sandwich was beautiful. i will be coming back even if it means to fly out here once a month. Massa you have a loyal customer.
