Story

From the owners...

This was a deal a long time in the making. Want to say thanks to everyone who helped us along the way. These past three months since we took over have breezed by. We could not feel more at home than at masons and are super excited for the future.

Since 1944 Mason's has been providing the community with great service, food and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere. Our goal is to continue the long standing traditions set forth by Bob & Chester. We are NOT changing a thing about the hamburger or the overall feel of the place. Some things are better left untouched. We love the history on the walls of this place, it speaks to the customers and people notice new things every time they come in.

The staff at Mason's are truly dedicated to the bar and the community in which they live. We are so pleased to have such a great staff that have made this transition of ownership at Mason's a smooth process.

Some updates to look forward to are a new easier to read menu, an updated website and Facebook. We are also installing some new flooring, booths and upgrading the restrooms etc.

One of us are there everyday working along side the staff to ensure that Mason's continues to be Livonia's #1 Burger bar. Come in have a bite to eat and introduce yourself. We are eager to meet you!

I've been going to this bar for nearly 35 years, and you know what I like about it the best? It hasn't changed a bit; Consistently great food, good service at a fair price. This is an honest bar that has stood the test of time, no fads and no gimmicks needed here. It's also a great place to meet up for dinner and drinks before heading downtown for a game.
My husband and I visited Mason’s for the first time today. It was an exceptional experience. The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly, the beer is cold, and the burgers are the best we’ve had. I wish we lived in the area because we would be back often. Thank you for a great time!
Great local bar. The burgers are the star here but there are several other good sandwich and fried food options. Also a small but good craft beer list.
Went for lunch for my coworkers. I was overcharged for fries. One burger was raw in the middle. Fries were horrible for everyone. They Tasted old. Which I didn't understand, because I waited for them to cook our order. Total l. However; I want to thank Danielle for taking care of the issues we had with our food. It was much appreciated. Thanks again Danielle.
The food is absolutely delicious. We have the patty melt and and the Reuben sandwich. They are really really tasty!! The chips had the perfect crunch. The french fries came out hot and tasted homemade. Lots of great beers to choose from. Waitress was nice and friendly. They actually have the sound on for the Tiger games so you can listen to it while you're watching it. Just a great non-chain place to go to for good food.
Drove by and saw there were vote best burger in Metro Detroit. I confirm they have an amazing burger. First time and certainly not the last time I come in for an outstanding meal.
The grill cook needs to just give it up he can't take pressure. I loved the big moses 1st time having it. He just butchered it. Food need love not hate.
Apparently, they were rated the Best Burger in the Detroit Area sometime in the early 2000s. Not sure if they still hold that title, but their burgers are still damn good. Small place, but comfortably so. Currently early 2022, pandemic still an issue, they don't seem to be open on weekends; not sure if this is a purposeful choice or if it is due to short staffing issues. Regardless, this place is definitely worth a shot. They only miss a star for me because the service was not the quickest or most attentive.

The place advertises "best" burgers, and actually they're very, very good! This is the type of place you'd drive past a dozen times before even noticing, and it's worth a stop. The bar is well-stocked and there's a good array of taps also. Corned beef on a good burger is surprising and really good!
