Great spot, and a super find after spending some time on the Fox River trail. I ordered pancit and my husband got the Indonesian noodles. Both were delicious. Next time, I'll substitute tofu for the chicken in the pancit. We'll definitely return to try more menu items. Mang-Kuk is owned by two brothers and the restaurant opened in late 2019.
Great food, they use quality ingredients. Great portion for the price. The bubble tea is yummy. Service is fast and fantastic. Recommended to try this place.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Good place, friendly staff. I recommend the Filipino food especially here, since some of the staff is Filipino and they know how to make it. Some of the other dishes are hit and miss, but overall good. $12 on average.
Place was AWESOME!!! Very clean and well kept. I ordered the Japanese ramen soup the pork belly was very tender and the noodles were cooked well. We need more places like this in Aurora I will be back soon!!! Highly recommend
I can't believe it took me almost 2 years to try Mang-kuk. The food was amazing! The Spicy Thai Chicken was the perfect balance of heat and flavor. My kids loved the ramen and fresh made boba tea. My daughter loves the food so much she wants to bring her friends here on her birthday...We can't wait for the next time we go to dinner here.
Outstanding! The Bourban Chicken was tender and scrumptious. Each meaty morsel was drenched in a wonderful bourbon barbeque sauce. This can easily feed two. Check this jewel out, you wont be disappointed.
This is such a great hidden gem of Asian cuisine in Aurora! I had to try the Filipino dishes of Pancit and lumpia pork egg rolls. They were delicious! Masarap! The best was the halo halo boba tea! I will definitely be back to try more menu items.
Heard about this place through Instagram - glad we decided give it a try. Place is fresh, clean, a bit bare on the decorations but nice. Staff was friendly and service was quick enough. Tea was great and we all loved our dishes. We'll be back, and we are excited to try some of the other dishes! Glad to have another great dinner option nearby!
Friendly service, but the food was not fresh, the pancit was flavorless and almost threw up as soon as I tired the bland chicken, I had to place it on the side just because it was very unpleasant. We tried the lumpia and had no flavor and seemed like it was old, it was hard and hurt after each bite.
The only way I know of this place is due to a friend telling me about it, but I'm honestly surprised that this place has gone under my radar. Just when I've gotten bored of eating out, this gem is what makes me want to go out again. First off: coming here or walking up yields a very open window restaurant with a fairly small space to seat and serve people. As a family style restaurant, it is very open on spacing, yet simple on decorations with good music. Where it shines, however, is in the food, but that comes further in. For a first glance, it's good for a small family of four, dinner dates or a place to eat and relax after work or for lunch, it is very good in it's accomodations. Now the food and staff. Almost immediately I was greeted and allowed to choose my seat. After considering the menu for a few moments, I found a few good items to try out though it and through tge knowledgeable and helpful staff that assisted me in understanding what everything was and what it closely compared to. After talking to the staff for a few minutes, they also helped me chose items that were closer to my preferences, steering me away from the hot and spicy items towards the sweeter dishes. The menu is simple, however with the explainations under each item, it looks a bit wordy if you glance at it from a distance. Don't let this discourage you from trying out some new things though. The items I chose were pretty safe, but the quality was fantastic. The fried rice I received was perfect. Bold taste, great texture, and overall it tasted delicious. Alone, I would love to eat it all by itself, but I wanted to try a few different things. The items I tried tonight were: Nasi Goreng fried rice, Gule Ayam chicken curry, and an order of Pastels. Pictures of what the dishes look like are below, however these are after being consumed. Each order alone takes up a full plate of it's own. The Gule Ayam was fantastic. It was cooked throughly to the point where the meat fell off the bone and melted. I actually got a few bones in my mouth, but since the meat decided to melt when consumed, it required no chewing, it was easy to sort them out from the delicious and wonderful flavor this dish has. Bold and savory alone, with the broth having a very good flavor that compliments the chicken fantastically. The Nasi Goreng was amazing as well, giving a nice splash of flavor that honestly would have done it for me had I not ordered anything else. This, combined with some of the spicy mix that was given to me with it, makes a good heated dish that was bearable if distributed well. Also, the puffed up crackers given to me with it also tasted fantastic. They remind me of pork rinds, but taste better and feel lighter. Last on this list was the Pastels. These sre sides, meant to be a snack. These taste fair, but for me they don't have too much flavor. I won't deny that they don't taste good, but i do want to say that eating these with or alongside another dish would be better than alone. Last item of the menu I tried was a drink. The Cendol Tante Lily. This drink has the color of coffee, but tastes very sweet. So sweet that diluting it with water and ice make easier to consume. This is a fantastic drink alone, and I highly recommend it for those that like sweet drinks. Be warned though: drink it diluted if you don't have a sweet tooth. Overall: my review of this place is high do to how wonderful the food is and how great the staff works in accommodating everyone in a timely manner. I will be back to eat here, and I hope some more locals will visit this spot for small get-togethers, possibly dates, and just for eating out after a good days work.
