It's been a while since I've been here. This used to be a good bang for buck restaurant. Before, soft drinks were included in the price of the buffet, but that is no longer the case, and on top of that prices have gone up. The staff are friendly and did a good job of checking in on you and clearing out plates and bringing out new ones. The restaurant interior is very nice with plenty of seating. Having said that, the rest of the experience wasn't that great. First of all, everything was sticky: the tables, and the food scoopers. The selection of the food was not as much as it used to be. There was an entire row of buffet trays that were empty. There was as many hot food items as there were dessert items. You have only the basics, which is fine if they tasted really good. But unfortunately the food was lackluster. Maybe they've been soaking there for too long, but the wontons were completely tasteless. The "fried rice", might as well been plain white rice. The fried items: fries, chicken nuggets and spring rolls were fine. The chow mein and rice noodles were bland. The Chinese BBQ pork was probably their best highlight. There is a nice selection of ice cream though. Of the Mandarin Garden's in the Fraser Valley, I'd stick with the one in Abbotsford.
Great buffet for being outside the Vancouver city area - Food always tastes great but the egg foo young is without gravy: very unusual - traditional Chinese food always has egg foo young with gravy - even the Chinese restaurants in Vancouver have gravy for the egg foo young - please add it to the buffet so that it can be a vast improvement
Always super fresh on the buffet can see they follow great food safe procedures here a must eats
Good selection of food. The service was good too
I drive from Abby to eat here. This place is well-ran and well taken care of. It's clean and beautiful honestly. The food is super fresh and there's lots of great stuff to choose from. I start with one of the soups and some spring rolls, yum. I really have to comment on the staff and how they are the real gem that makes this place shine. Thank you all : Vegetarian options: The vegetarian dishes are identified. Dietary restrictions: I can't have dairy and ate whatever I wanted here without consequence. There were a few obvious dairy items I avoided i.e. cake.
We go here once or twice a month. Choices basically stay the same. Lots to choose from and I enjoy the food. Good wonton and a decent selection of ice cream for my dessert. They have lots of sweets too.
The food wasn't very flavourful, there were a lot more "American" foods than Chinese, such as chicken nuggets, onion rings, fried chicken, etc. The chinese food was mediocre, which is honestly probably the flaw of Buffets in that they are to please the masses. Also the fried food all had a weird taste like the fryer was used for everythinf without the oil being changed. Even the deserts were just prepackaged dare cookies etc. I wouldn't eat here again.
Got the shrimp from here last time and got extremely sick. The last few experiences I had with the food were HORRIBLE. You could say the food has the same smell as the atrocious smelling bathroom at this restaurant. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Come eat here if you love getting sick!
I'm pretty sure I already wrote a review here, but maybe not? Either way, the price is okay for a buffet, but the food is made for old people. It's all soft, bland, and somehow comes out old. The only thing older than the food is the place itself and the clientele! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options Kid-friendliness: I mean, kids can eat here, but not sure if you'd want to
Took me and my brother's family here cuz my nephew Link requested chinese food. kids loved the buffet. Everything was good but a little annoyed that the waitress had to reseat us considering restaurant wasn't busy and we are a party of 19Food: 4/5
