Maka Paka

I came here a couple months ago for their character macarons. I came rather late so they didn't have a lot left I got two squirtle macarons. So I highly reccommend going early or pre-ordering with the shop on Wechat or instagram. The macarons were so cute and delicious! The owners are very sweet and friendly as well! I can see the store becoming more popular.

A hidden gem in North York serving up some of the cutest character macarons, cakes, and even some other Asian dishes like noodles/rice. The space is bright but on the smaller side with only a few tables for dine-in. The staff helping me explained they recently opened about a month ago if I remember correctly and they're still working on printing out signs so I didn't know what flavors each macaron/cake was but he patiently walked me through every single one. What I got: - Kuromi Macaron Salted Oreo - Pikachu Macaron Lemon - Squirtle Macaron Salted Caramel - Bunny cake My Favs: - The bunny cake was super light and not too sweet. I don't remember exactly what flavor it was, perhaps apricot, but a great treat overall. - Lemon pikachu macaron was my favourite of the three as I love citrus flavors. This was super lemony but not too tart. Final thoughts: The macarons not only look amazing but tasted great too! I love a macaron that has a bit of chew to the shell which these do and each one was super flavorful. They are definitely on the pricer side, but the craftsmanship that goes into the designs and the strong flavors make this a 5 star for me. I'll be back to try some of their food menu and more of their desserts!

I ordered the butter chicken over the phone and it was a super large portion for the price & literally so good! The wait time was also extremely fast. The place itself is small, there’s a few seats inside. Currently on google they say they open at 12:30 when they actually open at 12 on most days. Hope this helps!

I ordered a pickup order using the Fantuan app. I guess it might because it was a promotion item. The butter chicken was packed in a smaller rectangle box instead of a round box. The food was ok. I saw other people gave 5 stars a month ago but my experience was 3.5 stars. I gave it 4 stars.

The owner/chef was fantastic no matter how busy he was he will always greet you with a smile and welcome you to his restaurant. His braise beef with rice is great with the portion to the cost.Food: 5/5
