Famous French bakery from a legendary pastry chef, Christian Faure. This charming bakery offers many of my favorite pastries like Almond Croissants, macrons, chocolate croissants, napoleon pastry, and other sweets. The Almond Croissants were amazing, flaky and tasty. My wife had their chocolate croissant, she felt in love with the pastry. You can tell that the chefs here put a lot of love into making these pastries. Even though we didn't tried their macrons and napoleon pastries, from the look of them, we can tell that they should be very good. Coffee and hot chocolate were fantastic. I had a latte while my wife ordered her usual hot chocolate. The latte was very aromatic and tasty. The hot chocolate was rich but not overpowering the taste buds. The people of the cafe were very friendly. They patiently explained how each pastry is made and helped us to get the right drinks to match the pastries. The young lady who made the coffee for us happily took picture for us as she knew that most of the patrons like to have their pictures taken with the fascinating interior decor. The vibe inside the cafe/pastry shop is charming with French decorations. You can lose yourself here and feeling like been in a classic cafe shop in Paris.
All the pastries here are fantastic. The croissants here are the highlight, but the other pastries are great as well. Highly recommended. The coffee however can be improved.
Are cakes a top 10 invention in human history? Actually that is a rhetorical question because the answer is obviously yes. Maison Christian Faure offers a variety of luscious looking cakes and macarons that are really solid. The flavors aren't great great hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but good enough to make going here worthwhile when you have a hankering for some creative sweets. My only major issue is the space itself isn't the nicest looking for sitting and enjoying your time, though the service is quite friendly to make up for that to some degree.
nice environment to sit down and eat. The tropical fruit-based desserts are amazing. The Mont Blanc seems to have too much alcohol? or the the alcohol didn’t vaporize enough, tastes a little weird.
We had researched about this place and found that they serve the best Macaroons in the town. We decided to go this place fine late afternoon and got the box of 6 macaroons for $18, we got different flavors such as Vanilla, chocolate, caramel, lemon, raspberry and pistachio. Caramel was my favorite, while my wife liked pistachio. Must try place, they have few other options too such as cookies, pastries, etc.
charming little bakery with very kind and attentive staff! the sit-down brunch was fantastic and the pastries were also very delicious. i highly recommend trying their cakes, the chantilly cream hazelnut one was fantastic. the potatoes gratin were also some of the best i’ve ever tried. will definitely return for brunch in the future!
I had sit down lunch here on Friday December 10, 2021. The ambiance is beautiful, and the service was great. There were just a few notable moments during my visit. I ordered a hot green tea, with a smoked salmon brioche and two macarons pistachio and raspberry. They gave me a dirty coffee/tea cup for my tea so i had to ask for a new one from another waiter, my side salad was served to me with rotten lettuce and i chewed/bit on a fish bone in my smoked salmon. I would have taken a pic of the cup but brushed it off and just quickly asked for another cup. It wasn’t until seeing the salad and then biting into the fish bone that i decided it was worth a review. Other than that, it was a good experience. The brioche bun was nice and the macarons were good, probably not as memorable as other macarons Ive had but decent. If the cup was clean, and the lettuce/salad was fresh, I think i would have given a 4 star.
Pretty French Bakery is nestled in the heart of view Montreal. Fresh baked goods croissants, pastries, macaroons are well crafted by the chefs. Illy coffee and cappuccino compliments the nicely. Breakfast menu is only available on the weekends.
I thoroughly enjoyed the apricot cheesecake and london fog tea. Hands down, best cheesecake I've ever had!! The macarons were also very yummy and you can really taste the uniqueness of each flavour. Only negative was that there weren't many pastries available when we went. So I would them give 4.5 stars instead of a full 5.
When I went there, there were two lines: one for people eating on the premises and another line to pickup your food. I was alone waiting in the pickup line for 10 mins and had to go and approach a wait staff myself in order to be served, whereas everyone who arrived after me would be served by the wait staff in the other line. At those prices and such reputation, with so many employees, well....better is to be expected from them. As for the cakes, they were Ok. Nothing to write home about just generic tasting patisseries that look good, but that are not that special as far as flavours are concerned . I had better French patisseries in Montreal.
