I’ll be honest, I wasn’t impressed at all. I originally wanted to leave a 2 star review but I thought I’d be nice and bump it uo to a 3. We had initially made a reservation for a friends birthday, upon arrival the table wasn’t even ready for us. It’s worth noting that the restaurant was almost empty with 2 small tables otherwise I would give them the benefit of the doubt. We decided to order 2 boats at $110 each. What really stood out was the fact that since the name changed, the boats no longer included miso soup or a salad., it was also odd that we were chrged $2.50 for mediocre green tea that tasted like lake water. Additionally we all felt the order which the sushi was serve was a little odd. They started with the rolls, then presented us with the sushi and finished off with the sashimi which I thought was completely backwards. On a positive note, the hamachi sashimi/sushi was delicious, the salmon and uni tasted rather fresh as well. Unfortunately the red tuna didn’t taste too good and didn’t seem fresh. If you’ve read this far into my review, thank you. I will finish off by saying; this place honestly isn’t worth it. When you go to “a la carte” you’re after the quality. You can get the same quality for less at all you can eat. I would recommend going to nolbu which is relatively close to main sushi.
Coming to this place you never know what you will get. The first time we went to this place, I have to admit I was super impressed with this place that i went back a second time, 3 weeks later. We ordered the vintage sashimi on both occasions but on our 2nd visit, im very disappointed with the quality of the sashimi. They even wanted to give us the fake crab meat, if we didn’t complain. They say pictures speaks 1000 words. The picture below reflects the difference in quality between our first visit and our second visit. Be careful about this place.
Ordered their Sushi takeout. Very good quality sushi. Ingredients are fresh and packaging is very cute. The way they prepare the sushi rice shows they know how to make good sushi. It's a little on the expensive side and take a bit of time for the food to be delivered but definitely worth the money and wait.
Amazing food and Service. Fresh fish, seafood and many specials dish & drinks. Totally recommended for family. Many Private booths for safety during COVID.
Brand new renovated Japanese sushi and izakaya. Great atmosphere, delicious fish imported directly from Japan! So good!
Excellent service, food, and serving sizes!! The sushi was delicious. I especially love their chirashi Don. I disagree with other reviews that it's too expensive. I think it's well worth the price. My husband and I got a dinner for two set and the proportions were very generous! We recently moved to the neighborhood so happy we found this gem!
Great portion sizes and delicious food! I love how they season their sushi rice here. The colour of it was off putting at first but the taste is so complementary to the flavour of the fish. Prices are reasonable compared to other sushi shops in the area.
Good service, terrible food. Got a few rolls and they were all tiny and had very little sashimi. Now charging for tea, soup, and salad????? The very little fish we were given was fresh and good quality, but there was no value for the prices paid. I miss Gals/Kai Sushi and the large amounts of food provided. I won't be coming back here again. I don't expect this business to turn a profit or survive at this rate. Far too stingy with the food.
I regret going into this restaurant tonight. It ruined our dinner for my daughter's birthday. The server was nice though. Even if she finished all sentences by repeating "Okay" we could see she was trying to be nice. But, the food...it was the most tasteless sushi ever. Literally no taste. Ordered salmon tray for 2 people and Tako yaki. Tako yaki tasted and looked obviously frozen food from supermarkets. Miso soup was okay but the salad dressing smelled awful and tasted unbalanced. The salmon sushi had no taste at all. Rice was soggy and so the rolls are too. We could not finish even one third of it even if we were very hungry. I asked the server to pack it only because my daughter begged me to do so as she thought leaving too much food on the dish would hurt the cook's feeling. Also, the plate was made of cheap plastic. I found some unwashed thing inside of water cupt as well. We did not complain anything but just left very quickly and threw the packed sushi right away out of the restaurant. We used to go this restaurant often when its name was Gal Shusi run by other owner. I should have not come in when I saw the restaurant's name was changed to Main Sushi. I doubt the cook here formally ever leaned how to make Sushi.
This place replaced the old Gals sushi but I don't think it was anything close to being worth it. The fish was good. But the prices are slightly high for what it is. Two stars is for the value of the dishes. The staff is great but it seems over priced.
