Lucky's Barbecue House

Had an amazing time at Lucky’s last night! We got the shared platter for two, it was a huge portion and everything was delicious. They make a really good baked potato side too.nnThey had the hockey game playing, everyone was having a great time and the overall vibes are so fun. I made a little paper crane because they’re considered lucky for Lucky’s barbecue and they displayed it on the beer tap! The workers really make you feel like you’re just having a home style barbecue meal.nnHighly recommend for a great meal and a great time :

Updated to remove a star because implying a patron is racist because they didn't leave a tip and left a mediocre review is completely unhinged behavior as a business owner.nnMy guy, I was being polite in my original review when I said the food was fantastic. Your ribs were good, everything else was mediocre, and your service was completely unprofessional at best. We ended up going to another restaurant after because we were still hungry.nn---nnFood was excellent. Server/owner was more interested in watching the World Cup more than anything else. He was literally ordering pizza from FreshSlice with a regular at the bar while we were there.

Average food, beef tasted quite dry. Poor service, owner had his friend bring out drinks which felt extremely awkward. Slaw tasted bland and some of the dips tasted like water. Sausage was dry but edible. Corn muffins were good.

Absolutely delicious BBQ. Everything was cooked just right, smoky, tender, and full of flavor. The sauce had a great balance, not too sweet. And the cornbread is warm, fluffy, and super comforting. We liked it so much we ordered another plate.

I usually rely on Google ratings when choosing places and try to contribute by leaving honest ratings as well. After seeing the owner's response to my rating, I decided to share more details about my experience to help others.nThe main issue was the food quality, not just the taste. I ordered the brisket, and it did not seem fresh. The meat looked like it had been reheated and served, and it didn’t resemble proper brisket. Two dishes were left almost untouched because they simply weren’t eatable.nThe restaurant offered a refund without us asking, which was appreciated, but the issue wasn’t about money. It was about the disappointing experience. As meat lovers, it was frustrating not being able to enjoy the food due to the poor quality.nAfter reading other reviews, it appears others have had similar experiences with stale food.nThe owner's response was also concerning. Instead of addressing the feedback, suggesting a food bank felt disrespectful and unprofessional. We’re happy to pay for good food, but the quality should meet an acceptable standard.
