Amazing food!! I have lived in Vancouver for over 40 years and have definitely gone to my share of Chinese restaurants. I have my favorites. I have never gone to Shun Jing Lou Seafood Restaurant and never knew that it existed. I did not know what I was missing. It was a late dinner last night and most of the Chinese restaurants were closed or closing. This place was still open so we popped in. There were a few regulars inside and we were seated immediately. There is sign at the door that requests customers to wear a mask inside the restaurant while walking to your table. Not a problem. The servers are friendly. The menu is very good. I thought that the prices were kind of high at about $19 per dish but I kept my mouth shut. I was hungry. My friend and I ordered the Hot and Sour Soup, the Singapore Noodles and the Beef Chop Suey. I needed to have some veggies. Service was very good and the food came out quickly. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the big bowl of soup. It could have fed a table of 6. The flavor of the soup was incredible. It just was not hot and sour but there were so many layers of flavor to it. I have never had a soup that was so delicious. The soup had white fish, squid, and prawns as well as everything else that it is supposed to have. The plates of Singapore Noodles and the Beef Chop Suey were enormous. Once again, the flavors were incredible. I have never had such outstanding Chinese food. There was enough food to feed more than 4 big eaters and there were only 2 of us so we made out with loads of left overs. My friend is Chinese and she thought that the food was great and she was pleased that we discovered it by accident. We will definitely be going back there to eat. BTW, last night was the first night that they were open since COVID hit. I am so happy that I was there. Please check it out. Cash only please.
Very affordable good quality dim sum. This is probably one of the more affordable “hidden gem” dim sum places in Vancouver. Food quality is very good and tasty. It’s been our family’s go to restaurant for years. We were seated quickly and food came out pretty fast. You do have to order of a list. There’s not may push cart style dim sum places around anymore. 15 dishes including tea to feed 4 adults and with leftovers was $91. Yes. They charge tea automatically per person. Don’t know why we were given 10% off. But we’ll take it. It’s also a cash only restaurant. So leave your wallet in your pocket.
This is one of the best value dim sum places in the lower mainland area. Been here multiple times along with higher end places like Tony's and Kirin. Portions are huge and the dim sums are delicious. It's certainly not your 5-star style dim sum that come in dainty portions with expensive ingredients like truffle, crab or imported scallops but they've got the traditional recipes down solid. This is the kind of place you would eat at if you sought after old fashioned style dim sum at a very affordable price. The place is always packed so be prepared to wait. How do you know this place is old school? Majority of patrons there are old Cantonese people who speak and gossip VERY loudly!
Long gone are the days of really cheap dim sum... But if you're looking for some reasonable prices, this restaurant satisfies. The steamed chicken feet here are super tender and has the perfect sauce to accompany it. The beef rice rolls with cilantro was also one of our favs and the pork filled bean curd wrappers turned out fairly good as well. I know the beef and veggies with sauce on flat rice noodles isn't a dim sum dish but we are glad we ordered it. The items that I thought could have been better were the siu mai although large and generous portion size, they were a bit gristly. The deep fried meat dumplings were a bit too hard from over-frying. But overall, good value here and some dim sum dishes stand out.
This is your neighborhood dim sum restaurant. Dim sums are freshly made and the prices are reasonable. BBQ pork buns are excellent. Will come back for more dim sums!
Dim sum at the middle price tier with larger portions. The deep fried tofu with shrimp paste was yummy. Had 7 items, 4 were good, one acceptable, and two were a miss. Service was good. Worth going back.Food: 4/5
Delicious yet low price point dim sum. small dish $5.5, medium dish $6.7, large dish $7.7, extra dish $8.5. the dishes could be hotter but the taste was good. No parking on site so it is all street parking.Food: 4/5
Had the set dinner for 10 people, $268. Every dish was pretty darned great. Our hostess even served a birthday cake we brought in. Great service! At one similar restaurant in the area, the staff made us feel like we were greatly inconveniencing them, so extra points to Lucky Dragon for making us feel welcome. Festive atmosphere all around, and fond memories. Wish I found this place earlier!
Have dinner combo in this local Chinese food. Frequently visited by local Chinese. Cantonese style Chinese food, restaurant looks a little outdated but clean in general. Food was good, came out quick and hot. Good taste, big portion. Combo sizes come in portions for 2 to 8 people. It all comes with soup, steamed rice, dessert and a bonus dish of steamed chicken. Service was good and quick. Main menu has English but the combo menu has non. Dimsum in the morning.
Just « ok ». Items came out at very different times. Chow mein tasted burnt and Shiu Mai had a weird sweet taste to it. Food was hot and staff were generally pleasant. Not my favourite and probably won’t go back.
