Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
"About Lou Malnati's PizzeriaConsidered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati's is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940's working in Chicago's first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati's Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago's best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday."

We ordered two deep dish pizzas for delivery. They took over an hour and a half to arrive. The pizza itself was cold and undercooked. The crust, instead of being brown and crispy, was pale and soggy. I talked to the manager and he gave us a future credit. When it came time to redeem the credit, the manager said there was nothing in the system saying that we had a credit. Our order from that time was not even in the system. He was very rude and dismissive of our concern and said he could do nothing to help us. So in the end we had a ruined meal that was trash and no compensation from this business. Avoid this location at all costs. Is nothing like the original Lou's. Poor product and management.
We were expecting a delicious Chicago style pizza and what we received was overpriced garbage. It was almost $30 for a thin crust, two topping pizza. The crust was hard and the whole thing was just really gross overall. We do not recommend this restaurant and will not be calling them again.Food: 1/5
My husband loves Lou Malnati’s and wanted our family to experience it. Since it was raining so much, this carryout option was perfect. I placed the order online, it was ready in 20 minutes, we picked it up, and then got to enjoy it in the comfort of our AirBNB. We got a large, which was enough for the four of us and my husband to have a slice for breakfast the next two days. Really enjoyed it. This option made it really convenient.
I was really excited when I found out there was a Lou Malnati's in Norridge. I did the research and found out that this location is takeout or delivery only. That was fine with us as we looked forward to enjoying some delicious Malnati's pizza at home. I had read that service was slow, but I was not prepared for just how slow they really are. When we entered the store we were greeted by an employee who asked if they could help us, when we told her that we needed to look at the menu a little bit, she said okay and went to the back. Little did we know that she would never come back. When we were ready to order she was nowhere to be found. We kept saying excuse me hello we need help. We could even hear people talking in the back but they were not interested in helping us out. Thank goodness a delivery driver came in from the outside and he asked us if we had been helped, when we said no, he went in the back and brought somebody out to help us. Once we ordered, we were told that it would take an hour for our pizza, so we decided to go for a walk and come back and pick up our pizza. The family size Malnati salad romaine lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, mushrooms, volpi salami bits and both Gorgonzola and Romano cheese with a sweet vinaigrette was really good and feeds anywhere from four to six people. Of course we had to have the Malnati's Chicago classic deep dish pizza with sausage, extra cheese, and vine-ripened tomato sauce on their signature Butter Crust shell. It was delicious and just as enjoyable as if we were sitting in one of their restaurants. I would suggest that you call ahead and place your order for pick up since the wait time is so long.
This is where we go for our pizzas - and always get their extremely fresh salads too good for 2 people with their great lemon/garlic dressing! Vegetarian options: Salads are vegetarian and what you put on your pizza also.
Both this location and the one south of it leave a three block gap in delivery coverage. Both restaurants could absorb a block and a half of delivery radius and gain complete coverage in the nw side of Chicago. Yet they would rather not spend the time to figure out this small measure would guarantee complete delivery coverage in Chicago. Oh well. They also wasted close to ten minutes phone time that could've been orders speaking to me who just wanted to order a pizza.
I had high hopes for this place, with all the great reviews. It wasn't as fabulous as I was expecting. Was hoping for a buttery melt in your mouth crust and cheese that stretched from the plate to your mouth...didn't get either. Gal up front gave us the wrong salad and dressing, which we found out about after we got to the hotel. Oh well, live and learn.
Awsome staff , treat you like family. Wonderful attitudes with a smile on there face and there willing to take time with your order 5 stars all the way Thanks Jeff worden

Ordered online and stopped by the takeout location for pickup. Awesome pizza as always and the staff asked if we needed plates and silverware which helped as we were staying in hotel for the night!Food: 5/5
