I had an amazing experience with Raffi & Lorne Park Jewellers creating my custom ring. They truly brought my vision to life.nnI had a very specific design for my setting and requested multiple adjustments and tweaks throughout the process — they worked closely with me to refine every detail until it was perfect.nnThe final ring is beyond what I imagined, I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a custom piece!

Difficult to be understanding and sympathetic towards a company that appears to only value their own schedule and terms.nnHusband got a setting done here and paid top dollar for service we felt fell short. The shop called and informed us on a Wednesday that the ring should be ready by Friday, my husband advised that he works and will be free around the same time as the call they made that day evening after 4:30pm. Friday husband got a missed call advising the ring was ready, however we are unable to pickup until Saturday. Husband drives to the store and it was closed for unrelated reason and the owner Raffi makes verbal suggestion that there could be another option for someone to deliver the ring to us since the store was closed unannounced. Unfortunately when we tried to have someone deliver the ring we were provided the run-around and ultimately our only option was to make another trip back to the store. My husband came back on the following Saturday and was finally able to get our ring. Owner provided a gift card as a way of apologizing but we most likely won't be using it.nnPlease just call and confirm ahead of time. If there are any disagreements, ensure the solution is satisfactory to all involved.

I don’t typically leave negative reviews because I understand how important reviews are to businesses. We also did not end up having any work done here, so I want to be clear that I cannot comment on their craftsmanship. This review is solely about our customer service experience.nnI visited Lorne Park Jeweller with my fiancé a few days after getting engaged to discuss resizing my ring and increasing the thickness of the shank. We were hoping to find a jeweller we could trust for this ring, our future wedding bands, and future jewellery purchases.nnBefore visiting, I had already spoken with other jewellers who quoted similar prices for replacing the shank, but they treated the request as completely normal, explained the process, and made me feel comfortable asking questions. That is why my experience here was so surprising.nnI called ahead and was treated politely over the phone. However, when we arrived, we were stopped twice at the door and questioned before entering. I understand jewellery stores have security procedures, but combined with the rest of the interaction, it contributed to feeling unwelcome.nnWhen I asked about resizing my ring and increasing the thickness of the shank, I was told resizing by half a size “wouldn’t make a difference” and that making the shank thicker would be extremely difficult. I was quoted roughly $500–$600 for replacing the shank which is a normal & reasonable quote.nnThe issue was not the price. We understand this is significant work and are prepared for the cost. This is an important ring, and we are willing to invest in making it exactly what we want. The issue was that the price and difficulty were presented in a way that made it seem like it would be too expensive for us, despite no one asking about our budget. Other jewellers had given similar quotes but treated it as a normal request.nnWhen I was told how much work would be involved, I mentioned that perhaps we should bring the ring back to the original maker. This was not because we wanted a cheaper option. It was because the conversation made it feel like this was an unusually difficult request or something they did not want to take on.nnWe wanted to ask questions about ideal ring thickness, how 10K gold behaves over time, and whether a 1.3mm band could deform with regular wear. We also wanted to see different thickness options in person to make an informed decision. When my fiancé asked if we could see other ring/thickness examples, we were told, “I’m here to sell, not to help.” It was only after my fiancé reminded him that we could be future customers needing wedding bands and other jewellery that the tone changed. He then got out the thickness measurement tool and continued helping us. To be fair, he did eventually provide the measurements we needed, and I appreciate that.nnThere was only one other customer in the store being served by another clerk. We weren’t holding up a line or causing a disturbance. However, we left feeling rushed, like our questions were an inconvenience and that we were not taken seriously.nnWhether that was because we look young, because we are a Black and queer couple, or for another reason, I cannot say for certain. I only know that the experience left us feeling very sad and unwelcome.nnThe overwhelmingly positive reviews led us to expect a warm, and welcoming experience, especially for such an exciting milestone. Unfortunately, our first impression was disappointing, and we will be looking elsewhere for our wedding bands and future jewellery purchases.

I couldn't be happier with the custom work I had done here. I needed a specific repair on a ring, and the team was professional and friendly from start to finish. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and the craftsmanship is top-notch. It’s rare to find such great service and technical skill in one place. I'll definitely be back!

Vanig made me the most exquisite eternity wedding band. I absolutely love it. It’s so elegant, stunning and brilliant. I had broken my wedding band and Vanig had guided me over several visits to create a gorgeous piece. The entire team at Lorne Park Jewellers are friendly, knowledgeable and honest. I would trust no one else for fine jewellery.
