Longshore Sailing School

I would give it a zero if I could. I am surprised this place hasn’t gone out of business. A family member passed away a few years ago because of this school. One of their reckless drivers tipped over the boat. The company only referred to it as an “terrible accident”. I’m pretty sure they don’t state this in their website. Take into consideration what record these people have before booking. Stay safe.

We rented SUP boards for an hour and had a fun experience until we got stranded. After paddling out for 30 minute, we tried to turn around to return our boards. To our surprise, the winds and currents were extremely strong. After 20 minutes of hard paddling, we weren't making progress. A nice man on a boat saw our struggle and offered us a ride to safely. Upon our return, a rescue boat from the company shouted over to us "all good girls, what happened?" We informed him of the situation and he seemed happy we were ok. When we got to shore, we were scolded by the company saying that we signed a waiver in which we wouldn't get in any other boats other than the Longshore boats. There was no "glad you're ok"... and the Longshore employees were extremely rude to our savior. We had no choice in the situation as their recuse boats were no where to be found and we didn't have phones to contact them. We were never warned of the harsh conditions, given a suggested safe route, or even informed about the safety boats. Lately, they tried to overcharge us ... we obviously didn't pay :)

I just completed the adult advance sailing class at Longshore Sailing School. Even though I had no sailing experience prior to the classes I took at Longshore, I am leaving this class with far more knowledge and experience than I had previously imagined. All this is due to the great staff and the instructors at Longshore who are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and provided great instruction to the students. I especially want to recognize Ray and Chardy from the adult advanced class for their professionalism, commitment, and making the advanced course not only a great learning experience, but also a lot of fun. If you don't have any sailing experience or even if you have some and want to continue to learn, Longshore is the place to go. The classes as well as the instructors are great! I would highly recommend Longshore for anyone who is interested in sailing.

Last Thursday (6/11) I set up an event for about 16 of my colleagues at Longshore Sailing school. It was fantastic! The instructors (Hannah and PJ) were knowledgeable, provided good instruction in the class room and then again once we got out on the boats. The boats were the Hunter 140s and provided two hours of great fun for my colleagues and I (2 - 3 ppl per boat). We will definitely do this event again! I highly recommend this activity as well as the broader sailing programs offered by Longshore.

Longshore offers a renowned junior experience, and overall acts as a beneficial facility to both weathered sailors and curios beginners.
