Saugatuck Nursery School provides a small community environment where children experience enriching activities as they are lovingly guided by seasoned professionals.
Educational objectives:
- To encourage the young child's positive self image and feeling of personal worth and value
- To support and guide growth and understanding of relationships with other people
- To provide a loving, supportive environment for social, emotional, cognitive, physical and creative development through many varied first-hand experiences and materials
- To perpetuate curiosity, eagerness to learn and the joy of living in each child
- Curriculum is based on the State of CT Preschool Curriculum Framework
The mission of Saugatuck Nursery School is to provide a program that is caring and loving, committed to having each child feel successful, while being responsive to his or her needs and remaining sensitive to changing family circumstances. To that end, Saugatuck Nursery School offers a variety of year round, full day or part day programs for children 2-5 years old.
The school encourages children to learn life skills, try new experiences and to develop compassion in a warm and nurturing environment. Diversity is welcome in race, religion, cultural background and economic conditions as well as family life situations.
Saugatuck Nursery School maintains high quality teaching and developmentally appropriate programs. Current child development research is evaluated on an on-going basis. Parent education is highly valued because of the critical link between home and school.
