Came in without a reservation to an extremely quiet park with a great 3 mile trail hike. Site was gravel/grass but had electric and water for only $21. Great shower room near the main bathroom and the camp host was very friendly and helpful. Restroom by our camp area was an outhouse. Road nearby was a bit noisy just before dusk but quiet at night. Great place for our short 1 night stay. @TravelLynns

This place is beautiful! Very quiet and clean! My girlfriend, our dog and I recently set out on a road trip around the country. We don't have a huge budget so we have been keeping an eye out for forests and such with free tenting sites. The Loleta Recreation Area has several sites for free, and since it is September we knew setting up for a night wouldn't be too difficult. Our site was able to provide enough space for us to park our station wagon, setup a 6 person tent, and came with some chopped wood, fire ring, and picnic table. There was also a bath room (toilet) and running water close by. Everything you bring in, they ask that you carry out. We will definitely come back and camp here again! The ranger at the information center was extremely polite. No electricity on free sites. Other sites available for campers and larger mobile housing.

This beautiful park in the Pennsylvania Wilds is a great place for fishing, camping, picnicking, and the rest of the works! Make sure you visit this place soon as it is on the Allegheny National Forest's list for being closed down or reduced!
