The best place in Cornwall Ontario for inexpensive home cooked meals, ice cold beer and amazing live entertainment. Not to mention the patio!!!
September 18, 1997, was an important day
in the lives of Sharon Farley and her mother
Olive (now deceased). That's the day Lola's
Pub and Grub - located at 616 Pitt St. -
opened for business. The transformation
from dry cleaner to bar and restaurant was
completed in record time thanks to the help
of many close friends. 18 year s later, Lola's
has become a staple in the lives of many, and
a prime destination for those wanting a
quick, inexpensive home-cooked meal, an
ice cold beer, a heart-to-heart chat or to hear
some of the best live music this town has to
offer.
Lola's restaurant (the Grub part) is open
from noon to 9:00 pm Monday to Saturday,
with either owner Sharon Farley, Dan
Martineau or Tim McLean behind the scenes
doing all the cooking. Everything coming out
of that kitchen is homemade and absolutely
delicious. Customer favourites include Perch
Rolls - served ever y Friday $6.99 for one,
$11.99 for two with a side of your choice.
(Incidentally, you will NOT find a better
price in town!) Another excellent choice is
the Meatloaf ? stuffed with cheese curds,
fried onions & bacon, covered in a delicious
gravy and served with mash or fries and
your choice of veg.
Sharon's soups are famous and loved by all.
Again, always made from scratch, and trust
me one bowl is a meal in itself! There is
also the popular Wrap Burger : all the fixin's
wrapped in a large tortilla shell and finished
on the grill. Or, if you're feeling up to a
challenge, go after the Lola Burger ? there
are not many who can get through this
beast! Pop in any Wednesday for Wings. Star ting at 4:00 pm, $8.99 gets you a pound of
wings, however you like 'em, and a large draft (Bud or Keith's Red). Like a cold
drink, but on a budget? Cheap day is ever y Tuesday where your beer and bar rail
are both one dollar off all day long!
Last but not least, Lola's has become a hot spot for live entertainment. Most
Saturday nights, and occasionally on Friday? you can stop by Lola's and hear a
wide variety of musical genres from bands that travel from as far away as
Halifax NS and Vancouver BC, to the best local talent Cornwall has to offer. Past
performers include The Paul Deslauriers Band (fact: the first time Paul played
Cornwall in 20 year's was at Lola's!), The JD Edwards Band, The Graham Greer
Trio, Union Duke, The Standstills, Trench Town Oddities, Winston Mar ley, Gypsy,
The Rod Squad, The Red Rails, The Marc Muir Trio and many, many more.
If you haven't been to Lola's lately ? or ever ? you don't know what you are
missing. Open 11:00 am - 2:00 am seven days a week, 365 days a year (Christmas
Day and New Years Day we open at 7pm, because hey, everyone needs a little
down time). Make Lola's your next stop for lunch and say hello to Linda while
you are at it. THIS AIN'T NO DISCO!!
