Livery Restaurant aka Cowtown Saloon

Great food. I've never had anything there that wasn't good, and some of it was great. Great service - my wife typically takes 10-15 minutes to decide what she's eating and they came back sever times in that span to see if she was ready yet. Nice historic place. This building was actually a livery stable before the horseless carriage (car) took over.

This place stinks! We were having a gathering from the University.....more than 100 people and they had 1 bartender working! If you know that you are going to have that many people why in the world would you not schedule more staff?? Moreover, this is not the first time that this has happened....I went to another event.. the same thing. I have no idea how this place stays in business.....great atmosphere, cruddy service and mediocre food. I wish I had such low expectations as most people that live in Eau Claire to think that this is a good restaurant. Don't waste your money....go to the Wendy's drive-thru....you will get better service and a lot better food! NOT A FAN! Just saying.

We went on a Friday night, and with a group of 7 only had a 20 minute wait. Got seated upstairs where it's a lot quieter. The food was amazing and the drinks were too. Service was decent, the server seemed to have to many tables though.

LOVE sitting outside in the summer. There is a large fire pit to sit by during the fall season. Fun place to get something small or a meal. There are tables plus a bar and arcade area.

Everytime we go to this place we ask ourselves why we don't go more often. The atmosphere is your typical "bar and grill". It's very welcoming and relaxing, and they just happen to have great food. This time out, the Fish Sandwich and the Ruben Sandwich. Both had excellent flavor and were just the right portion. The fish had a really nice batter that was crispy but not over powering. It was nice and flakey but didn't fall apart. The meat and sauerkraut combination on the Ruben was excellent. Then, we also tried the new cauliflower appetizer. WOW ! They are outstanding !! If you have the opportunity, and like cauliflower, you have to try them. All in all, the most important thing that we learned on this stop, we have to come here more often.
