The staffs are so friendly in the store. The foods are all very delicious and there are small side dishes such as Kim chi, bean sprout, fish cake, potatoes, and more being served and refillable. You can enjoy the culture as there are a lot of Korean kpop music being played in the background. I have a great time eating here with my friends and I would come back for sure.
I feel like they changed the owner or the chef, I've been eating at this restaurant for 7 years and today's dining experience was really bad, the rice in the bibimbap was moist and really bad, we also ordered the grill pork, when we finished the lettuce we asked the waiter if we could add more, a younger waiter told us if we wanted to add more lettuce we needed to pay extra $3 This would not have happened before another older waiter told us they had sold out of lettuce. but when we were ready to leave, a new table also ordered the grill pork and they had a brand new plate of lettuce on the table. If you do business this way you will lose many old and new customers. I'll never come back again.
I’m not sure if there was an owner change post-renovations but there definitely is a chef change as the food quality has gone down a bit in comparison to before, as well as less banchan dishes. It’s disappointing since price have naturally gone up from inflation. Service is lukewarm but efficient and it wasn’t a long wait for food. - Army Tteokbokki 3.5/5 - a pretty fair portion for the price, and a nice surprise to see vermicelli added but honestly nothing special as naturally I compare it to budae jjigae, I would rather eat this in stew form. Mulnengmyeon 3/5 - doesn’t taste quite as rich and satisfying as before and the meat portion used to be more generous. Still good but nothing to write home about, I think there are better options for this in the area.
The service was slow, and the restaurant was so cold during our entire dinner. I had my jacket on the entire time, along with a few other ppl at other tables too. I ordered the army stew that indicated in comes with noodle in the menu, but it didn’t when it arrived. The servers English wasn’t that good, but when I pointed at the noodle in the menu, she just shrugged and said there’s no noodles. Wouldn’t have ordered a $17 spam and sausage soup if I knew it didn’t come with noodles.
This is my favorite restaurant for kimchi bokeumbap. They also serve a delicious kinchi dak galbi topped with cheese and garnishing. Authentic or not, the food is amazing here. The service is nice and friendly!
Yonge & Finch Korean Staple - known for their decent late night food Parking Situation: Street Parking available, Free after 10PM Decent food for decent prices. Small hole in the wall situation with a small selection of Korean staple cuisine. Service: Restaurant was not "busy" but there were a few tables seated with us, lots going on and when we we ready to order they came quickly. Food arrived fairly quickly for a Friday night at 9PM Rating: 4/5 What we ordered: Rosé Tteokbokki Budae Jiggae Bossam 5/5 Rosé Tteokbokki: Creamy, cheesy, warm, hot, a little sweet, a little salty, a good alternative to spicy rice cakes if you're not into spice, has a good combination of flavors that melt together 3/5 Budae Jiggae - Typical army stew, has all your main ingredients, instant ramyeon, spam, cucumbers, tofu, mushrooms, spring onion, rice cakes, two types of sausages, the broth was a little salty for my taste but overall not bad. During my last sips of the broth it was a little better, however still needed to drink lots of water after the whole experience. *Also comes with two bowls of purple rice 4/5 Bossam: Decent portion for 4 people, good amount of ssamjang and sauce with jalapenos and garlic, flavor wise I did not find it have the "porky" flavor, overall I'd get it again, good color and texture to the pork, enough fattiness and a little sweet. Good pairing with the ssamjang and well balanced flavors. Ambience: Hole in the wall type of restaurant, the restaurant has been here for many years, it carries a bright space with the color scheme, don't expect anything fancy, it is a very low-key casual spot to hang out, chill, have some good food and some good drink if it is that kind of night. The food will hit the spot. Overall 4/5, I have been coming here for many years and hope they stick around. Parking: Street parking available Free after 10PM
Affordable food, love the side dishes and everything in the menu. Cold noodle is very refreshing. Calamari deep fried squid is crispy and they always give extra pcs it's only 7 pcs per menu but I always got 8-11 pcs lol. Kamjatang is flavourful and savory with brown rice ! Highly recommend. Yum
We have ordered Bossam many times from this restaurant. Today we got one third portion of we always get. First picture is right portion of we always get and second picture is what we got today. We call restaurant and told them about it then they said it because price increase of pork. I can’t believe this. I never order food from them again!!!!
Unexpectedly came here because the restaurant I was planning to go to was under construction. The service was good and the side dishes were flavourful. I got the seafood soondubu jjigae soft tofu soup and there was not much seafood. The rice was not very warm and dry.
I came to have a Dinner Saturday January 07 and first the server she came and Say guys minimum 15% tips I don’t mind and give tips but don't tell me how much I should give second the food came not really hot and one of the soup came half of the portion. The server she asked for 15% tips minimum but I didn’t receive a good service. I had call the Manager thankfully the Manager was so helpful and polite and she could resolve everything . I love the food in this restaurant always eat there but you guys have to teach this server do not tell clients how much tip and I expect a better service I also ordered another food and my mushroom came raw. I like this restaurant hope you guys can change.
