Il n’y a jamais eu autant de livres et de revues radicales rassemblés dans une librairie anarchiste à Montréal! Des t-shirts, posters, patches, épingles ainsi que disques et documentaires sont aussi disponibles. De nombreuses revues européennes et nord-américaines sont également reçues de façon régulière.

La libraire est gérée de façon bénévole par un collectif d’organisations, de groupes et d’individu-e-s libertaires. Les personnes du comité libraire sont ouvertes à toute suggestion et à toute information pertinente concernant des publications ou des revues non diffusées à Montréal.

This second-hand bookstore has a rich collection of books. The owner is very kind and can speak fluent English, but he accepts only cash. As soon as customers walk into the store, it is as if they have returned to the area of 30 years ago: "The boss wrote the books purchased by customers by hand and counted the amount with a simple calculator."
Great small library on Saint Laurent. The collection has a good mix of English and French books, despite the section labels all being in French, so check the covers closely. There was a great selection of free zines and resources from local organizing groups that made the trip especially worth it. They only take cash so make sure to have some on you when visiting. Will go again when I’m in Montreal next!
A cute little bookstore. Perfect. [They have a decent size English section!] ONE of the rare non-corporate book stores that ACTUALLY has a decent amount of English books in this city. *bilingual store* but one of the few in this city that dosnt skip on the English section. Want to support local businesses? Go here!
Love this place. Volunteer run and had a bin of patches, one of buttons, a corner of free literature and a bin for very cheap books.
I was amazed by the variety of books they have. So many different topics, they even had books related to veganism which is nice to see that they know it's part of the revolution. They also had some T-shirts and pins to sell. They do not accept debit/credit, but there is an ATM at a convenience store nearby. Just ask the shop owner and he will tell you how to get to it.
One of the best bookstores in Montreal, I don't know why the masses don't storm their gates! So many times over the years I've wondered "how can I improve my quiche recipe?", "how should I frame the room I'm building above my garage?", "what are the cultural demographics of Peru?", and l'Insoumise is always there with a cookbook, carpentry manual, or ethnography ready to help me out! What's really remarkable is that they've probably got it in English and French! During these pandemic times I know they're closed, but I've seen in their window a copy of The Good Soldier Svejk, a deeply moving war novel which I feel has the most touching opening sentence of all literature, ever. Hopefully someone will take it off their hands! Finally I know I've been on a while, I hate complaining but almost all of their fiction section seems to be pretty complain-y. I wouldn't mind seeing some cheerier options you guys!
I love supporting this local bookstore. Came in looking for some Marxist literature the other day, and found two great books. One of them was just $2! Pro tip: bring cash, being an anarchist bookstore, they don't take card.
They had a great selection of leftist literature on every topic you can think of in english and french. Just remember to bring cash.
I thought the anarchy thing was just for looks, but the majority of the books and literature revolves around fascism or anarchy or similar. Not bad, and a great selection if that's what you want, but I ended up empty handed.
My favourite bookstore near or far.
