Great place to head in early spring, sometimes even in the winter, for dry trails to hike or bike. The park itself is great, the caverns are a really cool (as in, wear a coat) and ENJOY! 😃

I agree that these may not be the most spectacular you will see they certainly feel like you are really part of the experience rather than a theme park ride. Great lighting and knowledgable guides. Stop at the visitor center for some great info. Suggest that you be comfortable with tight spaces and able to maneuver. Nothing extreme. Great way to escape the heat.

Went on a tour here this past summer. It's quite a hike up to the cave (1 mile uphill) with lots of little fossils on the way. Once you get to the cave, there is a fun little section of rock you have to slide down to go deeper into the cave. Saw some bats and got to experience total black out when our guide turned all the lights off!

Excellent State Park lots and lots of History to be read seen and heard. Our tour guide was a fantastic young lady did a great job well worth the drive and well worth the $12 I think to go on the tour. Great little gift shop at the top parking lot . informational area down at the lower lot with a nice Lodge style information center. Nice clean restrooms they're handicapped accessible. And the only flush toilet still you get top of the hill. No bathrooms in the cave make plenty of pit stops nice and cool in there I went through just fine and shorts and a t-shirt a lot of people wear a jacket though. Especially females... Campground look pretty nice but of course was full the night I wanted to stay there.
