This is a comparative review only. For airport food, this is a solid choice! The menu is basic with a little bit for everyone. The prices comparatively are fair. We ordered the steak. It was cooked properly, but it was a cheaper cut and that was felt in the chew and flavour. I really loved the fries and would be happy to eat them again. The line up was long and slow, despite a number of open seats. The service was fast, like they couldn’t wait for us to get out. Our sever was friendly and we enjoyed him.
For airport restaurant it is actually quite good. Food came out quick. Eggs were cooked well and oatmeal is homemade rather than instant. Coffee is decent. Overall service was very good as well. If you are in terminal 1 E gate area come in and have a bite to eat.
Went here for dinner with family while waiting for my flight. We ordered the Pad Thai, mango salad with teriyaki chicken satay, and the dim sum sampling platter. The food is rather mediocre but not so horrible that it warrants fault. Just not very impressive. The pad Thai lacked a spicy flavor and was mild, though it makes up for it with the amount of vegetables it packs in. The mango salad was refreshing. The wait staff was rather complacent as the table next to us go their food faster and they were seated later than us, maybe because they only ordered sandwiches and because it's busy? Overall, the food needs to be more flavorful to stand out in quality for the price they're listed.
Don't expect too much in airport restaurant, except high price. I ordered the safest noodles soup to ensure everything is cooked. The wu dong noodles were soaking in the soup for too long so that the texture was too soft. If you only want to get some hot things to eat, this is not a bad choice.
We joked throughout our Europe trip that the food could never be as bad as Lee Kitchen. It was a terrible experience. The steamed meat was raw. We told the manager and he assured us it was temperature tested before serving. That's great but it still had a slimy raw taste that wasn't enjoyable. The grilled chicken for the noodles was super dry and over cooked. To make it all worse, it was one of our most expensive meals at $140 for such a terrible experience. Stay away!
Ordered steak frites and a coke. Food was okay, not much flavour, and with tips, the meal came out to almost $60 which is a lot for what we got. Waited a long time to get in, more time to get food as well, so expect to wait. Server was nice tho
Better of grabbing a previously prepared sandwich. The noodle soup had no flavor and looked exactly like in the picture unappetizing. First think my wife said after trying it was: pass me the soy sauce. This explains all the sauces taking half of the table space . I had the Mango salad/Chicken satay and there was Asian about that dish. The chicken was really dry cut in 2 big chunks and burnt. Could not figure out what seasoning it had. The Dim Sum was hard to describe. Too wet and the flavor was like anything I have had before. Not bad, but definitely not good. The service was good, they messed the order she's gave us a free Har Gao order.
From all the fast food spots and restaurants, this is the one that seemed better of them all. My experience at Lee kitchen was overall good, the servers are nice and the place looks fancy. The food they sell is mostly Asian but they also have other options like French toast, burgers and oats for breakfast. I ordered the French toast with mascarpone cheese and fruit compote. I added bacon to it. It was a good breakfast and I totally would come back here, it’s worth it.
Overall Value: 2/5 Customer service: 3/5 Breakfast Food:1/5 Ambience: 3/5 Would go again: NO I usually check reviews before going to a restaurant but having so much confidence in Susur Lee I expected at worst the food would be average. The French toast had a great presentation which caused even greater disappointment after putting it into my mouth. It was tasteless and obviously not freshly made. The omelette tasted like economy class airplane food and even for someone who doesn't cook I am sure I could have done a better job. The fries were relatively good compared to everything else on the plate, it was hot and fried to the right crunchiness.. For those who have not been to the actual Susur Lee restaurants this is probably not the worst food in the airport, but for the same money I guarantee greater satisfaction at Tims or Starbucks.
Food was undercooked, bland, and overpriced. Susur Lee "top chef/celebrity chef" should be embarrassed that he even opened a restaurant like this. Obviously no quality control with the raw, tasteless and bland food. This was the worst representation of Asian food I have experienced as an Asian person myself. This place just cares about overcharging you for terrible food because they know you're just passing by and not returning to the airport. Do yourself a favor and just buy snacks across from the restaurant.
