Charming, beautiful and very clean little hotel that really exceeded all our expectations! The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Delicious at the restaurant. Perfect location within a walking distance from Old Québec's downtown. The one thing I would improve is the frequency of the cleaning service. While the accommodations are impeccable, the room doesn't get done while you stay there. So we got stuck with dirty glasses, a half full trash can and wet towels during our stay.
Room is small, but has everything you need. Very good bathroom and shower. Amazing location and very good breakfast menu at the cafe downstairs.
Great ambiance but food not so great. I ordered chicken fajitas for lunch today, $19.99 plus tax and tip and quality was low. Wraps were very chewy as though they were old or very cheap quality, guacamole was super thick and no taste so probably from a giant tub and not homemade, and cheese was also no taste and low quality. The chicken was quite tasty but for a fajitas dish and the price having just good chicken wasn’t enough to make me feel I would want it again. Service was Pretty good with very nice waitress and wait wasn’t long, seating nice w options of booth or chair. My companion ordered breakfast which was good price and overall seemed good food value
Nice neighborhood cafe with a solid menu and bar. Very convenient to the Art Museum and Plains of Abraham. Great place to get a bite to eat and people watch, also. Not a destination but definitely a good choice if you are near.
We had a very good brunch here. Classic dishes offered. Friendly service. Gorgeous cappuccinos with the lightest frothed milk I have ever had!
Stayed here for the weekend of August 1st. Have only positive to say about this experience. Very friendly and professional staff, clean rooms, great food at the cafe. I liked that rooms had bathrobes, shower caps, a box with q tips and nail file. I did miss having a fridge in the room and a coffee machine. Wasn’t able to find coffee or tea in the lobby either, but having a cafe downstairs certainly helped. The cafes on the streets close around 10-11pm, bars close i think at 2am. If you plan to visit old Quebec, be prepared for about a 25 minute walk. The hotel is very close to a beautiful park. We went with a 2 year old, and in my opinion this trip would have been much better if we left our little one at home. There were a lot of bars and patios to enjoy wine, beer, and ice cream, but not a lot of locations for little kids not that we looked for those. Most staff knew at least a little bit of English, and everyone was very friendly, and patient with our lack of knowledge of French. The stay was very good.
Charging for an empty plate?! We made a quick stop here for coffee and a snack but nothing too big. I ordered a large smoked salmon salad which came in a cramped bowl with no dressing on it and the salad itself was not prepared or mixed. The most bizarre part of this Bistro was when we asked for an extra empty plate to mix the salad, the waitress informed us that it would be an additional charge for an empty plate! This is unheard of even in Quebec eateries. Very poor food, service, quality.
We were referred to this cafe by our hotel and it was great. Poutine breakfast was decadent. It’s cozy and divided into rooms so if you don’t mind crowds it’s great. French toast is very plain unless you have add ins. Eggs Benny were excellent.
Food was tasteless. I had a BLT and salad. Salad dressing had no taste whatsoever. Needed a microscope to find the bacon. Expensive and not worth it. And the service …..omg! There were only two people on for service and they had the whole place inside and out to cover. We had to wait forever even to get a fork. There should have been more staff. The dessert was not memorable either but the coffee was good. Not going back.
Quelle belle ambiance sur l’Avenue Cartier! The same can be said about sitting outside for a superb meal at this wonderful gem of a restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and I highly recommend that you try the Krieghoff crouton au gratin. If your mouth isn’t watering after seeing this menu choice… By the way, it tastes as good as it looks!
