A truly disappointing experience. With a renowned chef and a Fairmont Hotel, one would expect better quality food and a better overall culinary experience. The Cesar salad was wilted if you can’t serve proper lettuce, then you have a serious issue. The veal was served with French fries only. Consider adding some green asparagus or green beans for presentation. Overall recommendation, skip this restaurant and save yourself the disappointment.
We enjoyed dinner here last weekend. Dinner was excellent and the service was kind and attentive. We both ordered the Caesar Salad to start - great choice! For our mains we got the Veal Flank Steak and Fries. Yum! So juicy and flavourful! For dessert we split the Chocolate Cake and the Crème Brulée Sugar Pie. Our fave was by far the Crème Brulée Sugar Pie!
Le Comtoir is a pleasant dining experience in a fantastic hotel. However, it is important to note the three very different dining experiences this restaurant offers. I’ve dined at Le Comtoir dozens of times and have enjoyed all types of dining. Breakfast is available daily via buffet or a la carte depends on time of year. The a la carte menu is basic but perfect for this restaurant and will please all patrons. The buffet features a variety of options, from pastries to hot foods to a continental selection to a parfait bar. I always enjoy my breakfast at this restaurant. A la carte dining is available for dinner only certain times of the year. During my visits in February, the restaurant features a la carte while Christmas time it is a buffet. The a la carte menu is very nice, the food is quite good and service is always friendly. The timing can be a bit slow, but aside from this the a la carte dining experience is great. Dinner buffets, when available, are hit-or-miss. The price is often very high, which leads to low value depending on the buffet offerings. I’ve had times where the buffet items are fresh and delicious, but other times they’ve been culinarily mediocre and sitting in steam tables for far too long. The buffet also is inconsistent in variety, with some nights having many different types of options while other nights the options are more limited. For both buffet and a la carte dinner, the service is very friendly but drinks often take a bit long. Le Comtoir is a frequent stop on my trips to Tremblant, and I am always satisfied. I would recommend avoiding dinner buffets if possible, but a la carte dining is very nice and suiting of the hotel.
Service was not up to par with what I expected for the price, very disappointed with overall experience. Soup, was good but warm at the most, asked for bread, took like 20 minutes to bring it. Had the Bavette, which was good, but for the price just to be served with fries is a joke. Not worth it.
Warm and welcoming. Food is great. Tried the 'Table d'hôte'. Broccoli soup, salmon dish and veal dish are delicious!
Came here for lunch March 11, 2019. I ordered the burger with cheese, wild mushrooms, tomato, and pickles. 10/10 for the burger and fries. Fries were crispy and not overly salted. Burger was nice and juicy but tender not tough. Coffee was excellent as well.
We booked a reservation at this place with the knowledge that they specialized in Italian cuisine. Their website says that their chef has created many different distinct pizzas and pastas. When you are inside, there are signs that have pizza and pasta options. To our dismay, the menu had 4 main entrées, none of which were Italian. No pasta. No pizza. Not Italian at all. Only 4 highly priced options focused on steak. When we asked our server, she said that "due to COVID", they can't make pizzas or pasta anymore. This was baffling, and a terrible representation of the Fairmont Hotel brand. I would not book a reservation at this restaurant because you will have no clue what the food is. What's funny is that their logo even has "Italian Cuisine" in it. I'm still laughing while writing this review.
We went to dinner last night; a fabulous experience. The waiter was polite and had fantastic recommendations. Their food has an interesting twist to it, that makes it very appealing and super tasty. Do not miss out on their dessert options. Amazing options. Bon appetite!
I don't know why but I think this restaurant was underrated.I had Saturday dinner buffet today ..Food selection may be not much compared to"general" buffet, but every dish is great and the quality is better than other buffet restaurants .The oyster is fresh and sweet. Smoked fish has amazing flavor and texture.Salad is fresh enough. The best is dessert, I choose 4 flavors and I like all of them. Service is OK for me but a little bit annoying because they take your empty plate away efficiently . I know some people like this kind of service. It's not cheap dinner buffet$55 per personbut I am satisfied with the food quality.
I was at le Comptoir for a company event. All the food looked fabulous. Most of it, though I could not eat because of my plant based diet. I saw the chef I do not know his name unfortunately, and asked if there was anything that did not contain any animal products. He gladly offered to fix something special for me. And boy did he not disappoint. He made me this amazing grilled tofu with grilled veggies in a cranberry and maple syrup sauce. It was beyond heavenly. He came back to my table to ask if I was happy... You could see the pride in his face. He was most certainly proud of his work. I would recommend this place to everyone.
