Lots of really good shops, so one trip you can get all necessary items. Only thing is watch out for the other drivers. There are markers for one way but ignored and lots of distracted drivers.
I had a very unsettling experience while shopping at the Metro Groceries store in Lawrence Plaza the other day. As I was walking through the parking lot, trying to get to my car, a woman driving a large SUV came speeding through the lot at what I would estimate was 45-50 km/h.nnThis is an incredibly dangerous speed to be driving in a crowded parking lot filled with pedestrians. I had to quickly jump out of the way to avoid being hit, as the driver showed no signs of slowing down or being aware of her surroundings.nnThe speed and recklessness of this driver put myself and other shoppers at serious risk of being struck and seriously injured. Parking lots should be areas where drivers exercise extreme caution and drive slowly to prioritize pedestrian safety. This was the complete opposite.nnI'm deeply concerned that this type of driving behavior is being exhibited in this parking lot. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt, or worse, if drivers continue to treat the lot like a race track. Metro and the property management at Lawrence Plaza need to take urgent action to address this issue.nnPotential solutions could include:n- Clearly posted speed limit signs throughout the lotn- Speed bumps or other traffic calming measuresn- Increased security/parking lot patrols to monitor and ticket reckless drivingn- Educational campaigns to remind drivers of the importance of safe, low-speed driving in parking areasnnThe safety of customers should be the top priority. I urge Metro and Lawrence Plaza to prioritize addressing this dangerous driving behavior before someone gets seriously injured. I will be hesitant to shop at this location in the future if the situation is not resolved.
