Antique Carousel fun for all ages! Has always been 5 cents to ride, and is still recommended at 5 cents, but entry is by donation. We put in a dollar, and the kind young man at the entry said 'you can ride as many times as you would like'. If you walk around inside of the enclosure around the ride, you can read about the history of the area, and of the carousel. Traditional organ music, and a good length ride. Location is right beside a playpark and steps away from an ice cream shop and the beach. As the carousel is enclosed, you can even visit on bad weather days. Worth making this special trip if you are passing by or headed near Port Dalhousie!
Amazing and Historic Carousel on the Lakeside. Playground right beside this. The Carousel is still 5 cents a ride or admission by donation. Great for kids and adults alike. There can be quiet the line up on holidays and weekends. Ride is well maintained and clean. Park grounds are clean. Come and enjoy the day with some good rides.
Great day at the beach...nThe water was clear and the sand was clean.nHowever,nParking meters are non functional unless you download a stupid app.
Very cute carousel! A St. Catharines tradition. 5¢ per ride donation recommended. You can only ride one person per animal, so if you have a small child you'll just be standing beside them.
This entire area has been completely restored in the last few years, and it is one of the most fantastic places in the city! The beach and the green are both beautiful! The concession is expanding if you don't like the concession, the restaurants are also fantastic!nnThe carousel is the star of the show! It's a 200 year old lovingly restored showpiece that works the cost is one dime per ride, and it takes debit in case you don't have change in your pocket. The staff are incredibly friendly, especially if you consider it must be pretty mundane for them to run the show all day. Stick around for a couple of rides. There are lots of fun facts about antique carousels. There are about 200 hand-built and hand-painted animals on the carousel, and it's a great place to take photos.nnThis is not a great place to bring your car. If you are from out of town, consider parking in the grocery store or drugstore parking lots, and taking the bus down. They're only 30 or 40 parking spots, and the streets are very narrow.nnI consider myself extremely lucky to live here and to be able to get down there with my kids three or four times a summer.
