Stopped in here after a long hike in Pictured rocks and again a couple of days later. Good service and food! I had the veggie pizza and side salad. The side salad is good size with a nice variety of veggies and they had a delicious Michigan cherry vinaigrette. The pizza is good. My friend loved the pesto pizza. My husband enjoyed the whitefish tacos. I'd definitely recommend stopping in for some good food!
We are in town to hike Pictured Rocks. Drove around and this looked like the only opened place. Stopped in before checking into our hotel and was happy to see they had great beers on tap... Which we enjoyed. Came back later for dinner and more drinks. The staff was friendly. The pizza was good Spinach Pesto as were the mozzarella bread sticks app.
We make sure to go to Lake Superior Brewing every time were in Grand Marais. Great food, fast friendly service and a good selection of drinks. The most recent visit I had their whitefish dinner with a side salad. The blueberry jalapeno dressing was fantastic and the whitefish was perfectly friend with a light batter. Get the tasty black pepper blue cheese dip for the french fries too.
If in Grand Marais you should stop for at least a beer. Great location with very good beers and wonderful Lake Superior whitefish/food. Unfortunately the brew pub section was closed due to staffing shortage. Regardless the establishment made every effort to provide a proper tasting of their brews in the Saloon/restaurant area. Beers are tasty and well done. Whitefish selection was fried or poached. The use of whitefish for salads, tacos, burgers, or just dinners was unique and made for a fun dining experience trying to decide which to order. We had the salads a bit different right which were very excellent with the assortment of greens, veggies and many good available dressings. The poached whitefish was done to savory perfection with several different spices. The flavors that they developed with the mix of dressings, fish, and greens was unexpected and incredible. Highly recommend the salad. Observed dinners and burgers that also looked delicious . Finally…a shout out to the staff who did a great job making our lunch all that much better with service and hospitality . When I eventually come back to town I will dine here again.
This place was recommended to us by one kind friend. We decided to visit to have early dinner. There was a little bit of wait time as it was crowded on Sunday evening. The crowd was lovely folks from nearby places. The wait staff were lovely too. The rest room was little dated but working fine. Food was good too. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options like pizza and jalapeno poppers. Parking: The parking is there on the street. There is ample parking in and around.
Gray place! Whitefish tacos were really fresh, with a large portion & in house made tortilla chips. Tasty IPA and beer.
Friendly staff, Clean facilities and decent prices. Ordered the deluxe pizza. Really doughy pizza crust in the center. The sauce was great and the add plenty of toppings.
Excellent food, excellent prices and staff and beers are equally unique and enjoyable. It's worth the drive to Grand Marais just to eat here.Food: 5/5
Perfect fried whitefish, Perfect made coleslaw. Our mixed drinks were made excellent. Dip appetizer was superb. The only thing making this a 4 star was the pizza was lacking. I will have to say my son hates fish but wanted to eat my fish over his pizza. Staff was great. And got things as quickly as possible. This place was as full as it could be. We'll be back to sample the brewed beers here.
First stop while starting our 2023 snowmobile trip. The middle-age pudgy waitress with the personality of tree-bark sourly slapped menus down and left. My group immediately started to contemplated our exit solely based on our reception when a gentleman wearing shorts happily sat down with us to take our order so we reluctantly stayed. His service and demeanor was excellent. The food received was outstanding. This place would be a solid 5 stars if not for this one employee draining the life blood from the place that employees her.
