We stopped as a last minute thing and we were more than happy with the choice! First the service, as soon as we were seated the wait staff was right there for drinks. She gave a few minutes to look over menu, we had the chicken tenders with fries along with the fish dinner. All the food came out hot and very tasty. I would for sure visit this restaurant again! You won’t regret it
It took a bit of effort to get noticed at the bar, but eventually they came and took my order. So I tried out the salad bar and soup and ordered a pizza. The salad bar was pretty average, the soup of the day was beef barley. I went for the special Pizza reminded me of a Greek style pizza with the bottom looking like it's cooked in a greased pan instead of a stone. Overall, the pizza was good not amazing. Prices are a little bit on the high side, I'm guessing it's because its tourist season.
I was in town to visit the lighthouse and falls. I was exhausted and hangry! Found this fantastic little tavern by chance and decided to give it a try. Pizza was amazing. Salad bar opinion, and great drinks! They get busy due to tourists but they had the food out in a timely manner!Food: 5/5
Our waitress gave good service,But wasn't exactly the friendliest. The Reuben was ok, however was about a little less than half the size you would get anywhere else for the same price. The fries that I paid $3 extra for came out cold and hard, like they had been sitting out for an hour or 2, they had good taste and were probably incredible hot or even warm. If you're in Grand Marais, the only thing this place has going for it is that you will get served beer and the atmosphere is made great by the decor and the patrons. Just go to Lake Superior Brewing.
Very impressed with how the servers handled the super heavy traffic in line out the door and the food was delicious and pizza was top-notch.
This restaurant was packed. We were lucky to get a table just as we walked in a couple left. We asked if they could make a blt pizza the waitress went and asked the cook if it were possible and came back saying yes. Let me tell you that was one of the best Blt pizza's I've had in years. I got the fresh whitefish basket it was cooked to perfection. The drinks were mixed well and atmosphere was great good looking building. Our waitress was top notch. Very clean and we will be back. THANKS GMT!!!
They had some fantastic food and a great draft list. This place was a bit busy as there aren’t an incredible amount of options to chose from, but I’d highly recommend it! Our server couldn’t have been more kind and helpful! The pizza had a great crust and sauce. On the menu, they mention a special sausage and it’s delicious! It was easy to tell that the fish had been locally caught. While the breading was just about perfect in terms of quantity/texture, I wish it had been just a bit crispier. Regardless, the whitefish was great.
Fantastic tavern! Staff is friendly and rocks it! Went twice, had cocktails & food. Food excellent, cocktails killer. Keno, a salad bar and great views!!! Highly recommended!
We were there last night and the service was horrible! Had to ask for a menu and drinks after the waitress just kept looking at us. Ordered salad bar and a bowl of chili. Chili was NEVER delivered. Had to hunt the waitress down for our bill which was wrong because we never received our chili. Then we had to hunt her down again to have it corrected and pay. Absolutely HORRIBLE service by Jess.
Busy weekend 2/12/23 lots of families. Horrible weekend for workers to call in... Dozer got it done behind the bar and friends stepped up to help out. You all did a great job! Thanks for being a pleasant part of our weekend! Andy's bar unfortunately couldn't hang this weekend... Kid-friendliness: Cool atmosphere to talk/ learn about timber industry, sledding, and fishing
