Small park, a bit run down, but adequate for a BBQ, with some play space for the kids. Beautiful fall colors. An interesting look back at Oregon transportation history; you can see what remains of the locks that once helped improve navigability of the river back in the day of river transportation being a very important part of moving goods in the atea. Hard to get close enough for a really good look, though. The embankment is very steep, and there are no managed trails down to the river's edge. I would seriously reconsider the informal trails that I saw; they are very steep and uneven. Still, it is a lovely spot on a quiet morning or afternoon, feels more remote than it is.
A simple but well maintained country park. Swing set, restrooms and paved parking and walkways. Visited with my motorcycle club.
Great place to relax & take in the nature around!
If looking for quiet Majestic Picnic/fishing area You found it Though careful Our loved seniors and little little ones is a bit of work down to the river But if have time definitely worth it
Super small hidden park. It has two swings and some places to walk around. Seeing the old lock is neat. Would recommend for a more lax park visit that's secluded.
I use to come here with my ex years ago and we would bbq steaks on the grill and drink wine out of Dixie cups..some of my best memories were made here at this park. Now over 8 years later I'm back again with a friend and her black lab Luke who absolutely loved this park! And so did my friend who has never been here before. There is never many people, and lots of picnic tables and a small play area for little kids. There is a bathroom but it's kinda sketch..so I would not recommend it unless you are desperate and cant wait. If you dont know the area the drive down to the park can make you question if you are going the right way...dont worry, you are.
So green and so beautiful and peaceful!
Pretty, but fishing sucks and I wouldn't swim in that water.
Quiet County Park off the beaten path. There are lots of picnic tables bring your own tablecloth and a single bathroom. Lots of birds flitting about in the big trees and you can hear the Yamhill River in the background. Good picnic stop if you are exploring wine country.
Beautiful spot except for the trash that gets left down on the riverbank. Upper park is clean. Warning - trails down to riverbank are a bit steep, and sandy; so I would advise shoes with decent tread.
