La Pergola Ristorante Bar & Grill

I have stayed in the hotel for nights (Sept 26-28) and have eaten lunch (x2) and dinner (x2) in the restaurant. The food has been consistent, quite good and reasonably priced. Lunch has been very good. But.... both nights at dinner the same waiter has purposely over charged me an additional $5-8 on top of my bill. I thought it was a joke the first time because I usually overt tip (%25-30). The second night it happened also. What a f**kin joke. Stay away from these criminals, they are looking to take easy money from you.

Food was not cooked well. Salmon was burnt around the edges. Bigger problem was quesadilla listed as an entree that came with side. Manager refused to include sides. Showed him the menu, he blamed corporate office, the server and then the cook for the inability to honor the menu. As a previous server I felt for the kitchen staff. This manager needs to review lessons in customer service.

11:40am refused to serve breakfast even for extra charge. Said it was lunch time - too busy to make breakfast. Not one person in there. Forced to walk with luggage 500m to Dennys down the street.

The food was horrible. I ordered the Tortellini after a suggestion from a coworker who had dined/stayed at this hotel many times before. It came in a creamy white garlic sauce. Oddly though, the chef had added crushed red pepper to the dish. It was entirely too spicy. And it was a weird combination of flavors that didn't mend well. Others at the table ordered the spaghetti with meat balls, and the lasagna. They both had the same complaint.. "What's with all the crushed red pepper?" So the next night I ordered the 8 inch pizza thinking it was impossible to screw up a pizza. The dough tasted freezer burned. And after a few bites I noticed a faint pungent rancidity aftertaste. It was the pepperoni. After further inspection, the pepperoni had a greenish hue to it's appearance. I sent the pizza back and heard the server arguing with the chef about how he always does this to her customers. "Everyone sends your food back! Take a bite of that Pepperoni!" The chef could be heard refusing to try the pepperoni. I travel to Brampton often to work at the Chrysler Plant, I will not be eating at this establishment or staying at this hotel again.
