We walked an hour as a goal to get to someone's recommendation. I anticipated an other good french boulangerie with too many kinds of breads about which I am underwhelmed. Excited by the line up that extended outside, I started to take a picture of a middle aged woman at work only to be told that she didn't like her picture taken. She was polite and sincere. I respected her request and returned to the line. Once indoors, baking trays, helpful staff and breads of every kind caught my attention. I had an ulterior motive, the pastries. I went overboard purchasing a blueberry poppy seed muffin, a carrot pecan muffin as well as both a lemon and coffee crisp mini cakes. All of the pastries were exceptional. The mini cakes are still unfinished as their quality deserves a consumption slice by slice along with a microwave warming. A cappuccino at a fair $3.25 was also noteworthy.
Aside from their quality guaranteed sourdough and brioche loaves of bread and pastries, you can also expect efficient and courteous service. It is more of a bakery to order and go, not too many seats to stay in, but this doesn't affect its charm. Positive changes, such as paper bag tags, show their care with their environmental impact. I am always excited to see what is next. On Christmas 2021, my partner surprised me with a Meunerie panettone. Like me, he is a fan of this community treasure. I hope this place keeps thriving and brings me pleasant moments every time I go there.
This is definitely my most favourite bakery in Montreal. Being European it really makes me feel at home with great tasting bread. The only complaint I have is the cutting of Rustic half’s. Sometimes the half’s are very small and other times a beautiful size. I really feel that they should have a measure on the board when cutting it. Not just by eye. Thank you for understanding.
My favorite bakery in Montreal, until I bought some 'Mr. Felix' - morning "sweet' buns. I gave one to my child, when they started vomiting and crying I discovered they were literally made with SALT and not sugar! The small bite I took to see what the problem was made me gag and my mouth burn. When I called the store - they rudely cut me off before I could finish my first sentence - saying "'y'a y'a there was a mistake - we made them 'too' salty"' as if they had put an extra teaspoon of salt,.. not that they hsd replaced sugar with salt and made my child and I SICK! When I tried to explain it had made my child sick they again cut me off - 'bring them back and we'll refund you'. No apology, no concern for my child, no acknowledgement of the seriousness of the mistake or apparent care for it's impact on their clients!! Beware!!
Wow - def one of the best bakeries in the West end of Montreal. This place focuses on all different kinds of sour dough - they are all good just pick the one with the ingredients you like. Their focaccia is world class - I love the olive one with lots of whole pitted olives and beautiful olive oil in each bite. The Roman bread is also great for making pizzas. Cakes, muffins and pies are really nice as well. Worth a trip from anywhere in the area for sure.
I had a question about an order, the owner Dina personally took my call and made sure we had our order ready for today. Not only is this the best bread i have had outside of my favourite boulangerie in Paris, i must say that the service makes the producy even more delicious! I never give reviews, however in this case I absolutely had to spread the . Thanks you la meunerie urbaine, you have a client for life in me!
Very helpful and friendly staff! The viennoiseries were delicious! The mini cakes were a bit expensive for the size in my opinion.
Flakiest croissant, chocolatine, and cinnamon rolls that I've ever had in Montréal. The breads are full of flavor inside with a great crunchy crust on the outside. They're popular, it's pretty rare to not have to line up to buy some of their goodness; however, that's a good sign.
Really good bread, Their croissant is really good too. I have had many croissant growing up in mtl up to now and this place is now my official go to for regular croissants! and the regular foccacia is also delicious!!! The foccacia is like a fantastic one ive had in genoa italy.. Tried the potato onion foccacia although it was very tasty, it was not as fluffy as the regular foccacia and was a bit harder in texture. Will stick with the regular foccacia and the olive one
My love expressed in letters: 1. The lemon cake. It has the perfect sweetness, sponginess and of course lemony taste that lingers in your mouth and wants more when the tastes begin to fade. 2. While eating the butter croissant with your coffee on a Sunday morning is when one should be dreaming of writing romantic poetry. That kinda feeling 3. Take a slice of Suédois, the fine goat cheese cream cheese from the fromagerie at Atwater market don’t buy the Philly one pls and a slice of Atlantic smoked salmon. This blend will open up windows of your brain that need freshness. Bon appétit
