Story

All aboard La Estacion! Our journey began more than twenty years ago in the City of Chicago while working in the kitchen of our family’s restaurant. It was there that we first mastered secret Mexican recipes for creating our famous list of authentic mouthwatering cuisine. In 1993, our journey brought us to Waukesha, WI, where we owned and operated our first Mexican restaurant. By 1998, we extended our services to the public by opening a second journey, our beloved restaurant, El Jardin, located in Janesville, WI. This journey provided the opportunity to enable the public to experience Mexico's finest in traditional authentic cuisine utilizing the finest ingredients from throughout our Mexico. Fine meat, wine and coffee selections reflect the high quality standards we operate by. We invite you to enjoy our fine selection of wines representing vineyards from around the world. La Estacion was an absolute treat for lunch.nnFor starters, the building and property are so cool. I'd love to explore it more and would love to enjoy a later evening dinner on their patio once it's not 15 degrees out.nnWe had Belkis as our server. She was super friendly and very attentive. We joked with her and she definitely enjoys her job.nnI had enchiladas suizas with steak. They were beyond delicious. There was a TON of food on my plate. We didn't even finish all our chips and I still didn't finish my plate.nnThe chips and salsa were great and I got gaucamole which was smooth and delicious.nnMy friend got the queso and chorizo. Thenportion size was awesome. He took more than half of it home.nnOverall, an amazing restaurant and atmosphere. I will definitely be back with my wife for date night and try some new entrees!
We enjoyed the chimichanga plate with added cheese on top and a side of chicken enchilada with mild red sauce, both were good.nThe margarita was delicious and my hubby is always happy with Sprecker rootbeer!nReally loved the chocolate cake!! It's rich and full of chocolate flavor!nThe service was excellent. The hostess was polite, friendly, and sat us right away, thank you.nThe server went above and beyond! Thank you Thalia!! Excellent Mexican cuisine restaurant in the adaptive reuse of an old train station in Waukesha. Staff was friendly, responsive, and efficient. Prices were reasonable. Food was very good. Didn't dine in an old train car since our group was too large. We'll return here for group events in the future.
Decided to dine in inside the train for my birthday. Very cool experience! Samantha was our server and she was very attentive the whole time we were there. Food and drinks were great as well. Definitely loved the quiet setting and ambiance inside of this antique train of Waukesha.
Really nice Taco Tuesday options. Our table sampled barbacoa, chicken, pork and fish. I think the fish was my favorite. Chips came out warm. Had the Tuesday dessert special too. The staff was friendly and attentive.
