La Deliziosa

La Deliziosa really came through for us when we needed a beautiful cake for my parents' 50th anniversary party a couple weekends ago. Even though the shop would be closed the day I needed the cake, even though it was only two weeks before our event, they told me they would do the cake and it came out just perfect--and so delicious! When my husband and I picked up the cake, Frank reassured us that the cake would be totally secure during transport, which we were nervous about. He showed us how to take the cake out of the box and how best to cut it for serving. He even loaded it in the trunk of our car for us! This is one shop that really takes good care of its customers. Can't wait to visit them again, whether it's for an event cake or just for Sunday pastries. Top notch!

Warning - once you try one of their Italian desserts, you'll be a fan for life. Just like the name says - all their Italian specialities are delicious. Who doesn't have a sweet tooth? A box of their small pasties never fails to delight. I always think I'll just have two pasteries but they're so yummy, it's easy to eat more. If I don't have time to bake, this is my go to spot.

Best Canoli Cream on the planet. Been to tons of bakeries and this one is just as good as any of the big named ones in New York City. If you are in the Poughkeepsie area, I recommend that you stop by and give your taste buds some love.
