La Casita was a great experience. The restaurant looked wonderful and appeared clean. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We all got some pretty amazing food, but my shrimp fajitas were amazing. I left satisfied and full to the brim. Dietary restrictions: They swapped out wheat tortillas for corn at my request.
Service was outstanding! I ordered the chimichanga, and I thought it was only okay. To be clear, though, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it, I just would order something different next time. Two others had the El Grande Burritos, and they enjoyed them and would order again. We went on a Friday evening and had a decent wait before being seated, very busy place!
The service was nice. Beautifully decorated place. The chops and salsa was good. My husband enjoyed his fajitas. Mu chicken relleno was just ok. Will come backDine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesCurbside pickup: Yes
We went here for a birthday party. This place is a lot of fun and has great Mexican food! They gave us free chips and salsa for appetizers. I ordered “combination 6” which came with a flauta with guacamole on top, cheese quesadilla, Mexican rice, refried beans, and something else. Everything, especially the flauta, was really good! Our server was attentive despite the large crowd.
There are three types of Mexican food: Authentic, Americanized Fast Food, and something inbetween I like to call Theme Park. If you see a Mexican restaurant that is very colorful and highly stylized, that is your typical midwest theme park. I have bern to a half dozen different brands, but all seem to have the exact same food. This is one of them. It is way better than Taco Bell, etc. But it still missed the mark for authentic. The theme seems to be margaritas and plates that look like they were premade, frozen, then heated up later. I was once told, the more colorful the place is specifically regarding Mexican restaurants the further it is from authentic. To summarize, way better than fast food, still far from authentic. The server was the best part, I really liked him.
La Casita is one of my favorites. They are family owned with several locations in the Twin Cities. Their food is always tasty. I could eat there everyday!Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: Yes
Came in with a large group 12 at about 6pm on Thursday. Staff was super helpful and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for them to get our table ready. We were placed in a more out of the way area so it was quiet enough to hear the whole table which was especially nice because it was a dinner for an event at the University of Minnesota. Food was excellent, the wait staff was very polite and helpful and checked in on us multiple times. Would definitely recommend for anything as small as a party of two to a larger group! Only downside is they don't take reservations at this location but it wasn't a problem for my group. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options, a few members of my party are vegetarian and had no issues ordering. Kid-friendliness: Typical Mexican restaurant with a great vibe. Saw plenty of families when I was there. Parking: Parking lot is large, may be an issue on busier nights like Fridays and weekends but I had no issues getting a spot right next to the building. Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is one story, plenty of spaces available for a wheelchair to ride up to for seating. Dietary restrictions: I have a seafood allergy and mentioned it to the waiter, he put it as a flag into the system and assured me there would be no issue and that my meal would likely be prepared in a separate area. Didn't have any cross contamination even from the chips which I always enjoy, would definitely recommend for anyone that may have an allergy/sensitivity to seafood/shellfish
I've only eaten there once but it was a great experience. I ordered takeout and it was delicious. I was early for my pick up but the order came out when it said it would and the staff was very friendly and apologetic....even though my order wasn't late!! Definitely give them a try!!!!
Really delicious food and really friendly wait staff. It was my first time going but I will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
What a gem! Incredible food, great service, chill location. The salsas were phenomenal. Grace was working the bar and helped us. I don’t think I’ve ever had better service in my life. 5 dollar tall beers or margs. She even offered us more hot sauce to go along with our to go boxes. Highly recommend this spot! My new favorite in Minneapolis.
