Went to a competing restaurant prior to stumbling upon La Botana and got turned off by the price of the food. So we left. Got to La Botana and were instantly greeted and given a menu to look over. BEST prices in town will be my first point as to why this place was great. The food was also way oversized.. because welcome to America. Because of the size they really could charge a few bucks more but I’m not complaining haha. Right after ordering the well priced food they bring out Chips Salsa and Refried Beans. The Salsa was amazing, beans were pretty normal but didn’t come with cheese. Then the food came out: again I ask you to look at the portion of this food! For less than $10 a plate. That was also very delicious and we both ate it all and I’m not ashamed lol. They also have this spicy salsa that’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Approach with caution because it is delicious. This is definitely a 5 star hidden gem that we will be going back to again and again.
Food was served on huge platters see photo to give you the illusion that you're getting a lot of food. You're not Place looks like it hasn't had an upgrade since the 50's. Bathroom is in direct view of dining room see photo and door was open the entire time. Won't be back.
Real delicious food! Great amount for a well prize. Definitely going back!
Ordered chic flautas they were terrible. Never seen flautas made with corn tortillas. The chips were over cooked I tried to get a fresh batch made & was told there's no choice in theirs chips they only have 1 kind. The portions were small, I was still hungry after eating. The waitress lacked in people skills. The lunch prices were reasonable. The place looks creepy outside & OK inside. My date ordered a Pepsi & never received it. I won't be back.
The food was excellent, cooked to perfection, tender prawns, perfect spices, exquisite flavorful rice and beans. The chicken enchiladas' sauce delicious and the cheese was plentiful. Pleased to see they had the Sopa pilla which was great. Very nice people.
California transplant finally found a good Mexican restaurant. Ordered the chimichanga dinner, wife ordered the tortilla soup, kids ordered the 3.99 kids meal. Servings are huge, flavorful, and authentic. Total bill was 30.00. Tiny restaurant, tidy, service a little slow but very kind. Chips, salsa with refried beans started the meal off just right.
Not real special. Combo meals only offer 3 meat choices. Ground or shredded beef and chicken. The tacos came on a hard shell. For an extra fee you can upgrade to a soft corn tortilla.
The food here is as average as it gets. Great service, and I love that they now will send food over to Agave Cantina if you're trying to get some food with your tequila, but overall the food is just mediocre at best even by Nampa standards.
Worst Mexican food ever! My husband is from the border and we're used to eating food that isn't super authentic, but this food was just gross. My carne asada was like eating beef jerky and the enchiladas tasted sour. The one good thing they served was horchata. Our server also acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there we were the only ones at the restaurant.
One of Nampa's best kept secrets. If you enjoy authentic home cooked Mexican food, Irma and Francisco deliver! Combined with the extremely reasonable prices and friendly service, you have an experience that's hard to beat.
