The era of the legendary The Bay is coming to an end across the country. It's been in a pretend-liquidation mode since covid and still almost nothing to buy.

Bad and Rascist Experience at the Jewellery Counter at the BaienI went to the Baie with a friend to buy a necklace for a common friend. We first went to the jewellery counter and selected a necklace and asked the salesperson the information about the price. She told us the special discount the store was having along with an additional discount we would get if we signed up for the bay credit card. We said we’ll have a look around for other options and come back. When we went back the same salesperson kept ignoring us and saying that her colleague will help us. The new salesperson her name was Zeinah kept us waiting and attending other customers who in hindsight were all white people. We even asked her twice to come help and she kept asking us to wait, which we waited once she came to attend us, we asked her we want to buy the necklace we originally chose telling her the offer the first salesperson had told us. She was rude in her service where she kept insisting that wasn’t an offer and the actual price is slightly more 50$ than what we thought the price was. We asked for for a few minutes to decide as it was a gift for another friend and we wanted to ask other common friends opinion. Anyways Zeinah was very impatient, once we decided to buy it she asked us to sign up for the Baie mastercard, when i started signing up, it needed an Canadian ID which I don’t have as I am an international immigrant and when I told this to her, she became very rude as to why I don’t have a Canadian ID and I cannot buy it I don’t. She didn’t even let me buy the necklace without the additional discount at original saleprice. She was just rude and closed the counter and kept the necklace and refused us service. When we went back to the original salesperson we spoke to, she kept saying that her colleague will attend us and even when we said she refused she was like she has other customers to deal with and she can’t attend us. The other customers were all white too.nnTL;DR: very rude behaviour and racist towards asian people

I recently purchased a fragrance and had the pleasure of being assisted by Christina in the fragrance section. She was incredibly helpful, charming, and kind, making my shopping experience enjoyable. Highly recommend!

It's been a while since I was in La Baie. It is sad to see how it fades. Fortunately they still have the best selections of perfumes.
