After a friend on the street offered me a spoon of yuzu gelato from this newly opened spot I decided it was SO good I had to find out more. The name of this establishment translates to 'rainbow' and although the exterior and interior decor is devoid of color, monotone and unassuming - the selection of treats are bright in flavour as well as colours reflecting their flavour ingredients appropriately. The first display cabinet holds a selection of plated desserts made from gelato and sorbet. They are created with much care and attention. The prices appear to be a fair reflection to the quality of craftsmanship in the desserts. It would be recommended to enjoy them in house, however if you need to take them to a party or loved one there are insulated bags available for an additional cost. For me, the main attraction is the selection of house made gelato and sorbet. At the time there were a dozen flavours available and after sampling a few it was easy to tell that this shop was using high quality ingredients and were not cutting corners in their recipes. Available in a cup or cone, a small will get you two flavours, and a large will allow you 3 flavours to enjoy. Flavours at the time included: Lychee, Balsamic Strawberry, Mango, Coconut Lime, Raspberry, Matcha, Pistachio, Chocolate, Grapefruit and a few more. I can see myself going inside whenever I am in the neighborhood just to see what interesting flavours have been created. In my opinion this establishment is not riding on trends of charcoal soft serve or over the top dippings. This shop sets themselves aside on their impressive quality to the art of gelato. 5 out of 5 There is a door ramp for wheelchair or strollers. Payment method includes cash and cards. 4 small tables with chairs, a few barstools inside. Polite and helpful counter staff. Very clean. Pay Parking available on College St. Dairy free options available.
5/5 stars. This is now my favorite gelato and dessert place in the city. Excellent mix of flavours. Love the decor and the Fornasetti wall plates. Will definitely come back to try more!
An incredible experience! All of chef Jeffrey's recipes are brilliant and creative, and he was very kind and took the time to talk to us and about his creations. We sampled many flavors but had trouble deciding, settling on the intensely nutty Italian pistachio, velvety vanilla mascarpone, and to-die-for hazelnut almond gelatos. Best of all, they're all made in-house. The delightful cakes with gelatos and sorbet are not only beautifully designed but heavenly! The decor and music are all well-chosen, and of a piece with the theme of a classic French patisserie with a twist!. Truly a Toronto must eat! Heavenly!
Instantly became my new favorite dessert place! The desserts were super well thought out and delicious. The presentation as you can see, are incredible, but the taste! So many layers of flavour that went together so well. And the service was amazing! She allowed us try samples and explained everything to us patiently. I'm dying to go back already.
Incredibly delicious gelato. The yuzu is tart and not too sweet. Strawberry balsamic is so well balanced. The rosemary honey is just perfect. Their patisserie is all frozen too!
Gelato was amazing! Service was quick and friendly- as the owner let us try many flavours.
The best gelato in Toronto! They have 12 flavours on rotation and each of the flavours are so special and authentic tasting. Having tasted authentic gelato when I was in Italy, this place definitely hits the spot. My favourite is definitely the pistachio as the taste is strong. They definitely do not cheap out on high quality ingredients. The cafe is small with a few tables and chairs and the aesthetic is very posh. Will definitely come again!
Such a cute shop. The owner works the counter and makes all his tasty treats. The gelato is thick and creamy while the sorbets and flavorful and amazing. I got the Provence and the tartness of the grapefruit sorbet mixed with the sweet macaroon was perfect.
Great selections of gelato flavours! I find unique flavours like rosemary and honey interesting and grapefruit refreshing and great for summer. Will come back to try more gelato cakes - I haven’t seen them anywhere else in Toronto.
Nothing can be a better mix than chocolate with hazelnut! Love this fancy and tasty Bellagio!
