I stayed the night after hiking in the porcupine mountains. It's truly a one stop shop. Food and entertainment on location. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere at the bar was great! Shout out to the bartender that made me a pizza and kept refilling my water and adding fresh lemon wedges!
We ate at the restaurant and went bowling. Can’t speak to the rooms. Food was good, service was great and you can’t beat an environment with bears and bowling. Whole experience felt like you were stepping back in time and was charming to say the least. Early dinner and bowling came to $150 with tip and no alcohol so not an all the time thing but for a one-off it was worth it.
Can’t speak on the rooms, we were staying somewhere else, we came for dinner, it’s very basic food, nothing to write home about , I had a BLT that the bacon was like shoe leather, and my significant other had a hot beef sandwich that came out cold.nOur server however, was wonderful, she was attentive, friendly and apologetic when his food came out cold. This is only one of two options to dine in this area, the other place specifically has pizza. This place needs some updating, but looks to be a fun place to have some food, a couple drinks and do some bowling !
We spent a week at The Konteka Black Bear Resort while on a hiking trip recently, and we can't wait to go back! The rooms are larger than average, and very clean & comfortable. The staff is exceptional in both service, and kindness. The food is wonderful. And to top it all off, they have everything you could need, such as restaurant, bar, bowling alley, convince store, and even gas!nWe also got to see the bears from the dining room every day!nThe atmosphere was very comfortable, and welcoming! Love this place, and love the people here. We will be making this an anual trip. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Five Stars! nnExcellent service and the friendliest staff I've encountered in a long time! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming — such a great environment to relax and enjoy a meal. Shout out to Andrea!!!! nnAs a vegetarian, I usually stick to plant-based dishes, but I couldn't resist trying a bite of my boyfriend’s cod nuggets... and WOW. I’ve never been a fish eater, but those nuggets were absolutely amazing — perfectly crispy on the outside and so flavorful inside. I actually surprised myself by going back for another bite! Unfortunately we weren’t able to see the bears outside, but we did see 2 bear size raccoons and 2 buzzards !!nnWhether you're a lifelong veggie or just tagging along with someone who eats seafood, this place is a win. Can’t wait to come back!
