Kohler-Andrae State Park

Beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline! Some camping spots are ideal for groups, because they are open to the sites around them. The cabin for handicap campers looks fabulous. Great marsh trail, and sand dunes trails with spectacular views of the lake. Peaceful and relaxing in the off season. Suggest reserving a site in advance, because they go quick.

We set up at a campsite around 10pm on a weekday. There was no body at the building but the drop box was super easy. Each campsite had a picnic table and a fire pit. It was my first time going camping. All in all, it was a great experience.

Beach beautiful, even one set aside for dogs. Fantastic trail through more than a mile of untouched sand dunes where we watched a mother turkey and her hatchlings while also observing 2 pair of sand hill cranes call to each other. All this with a first rate view of Lake Michigan.

Has these AMAZING sand dunes as well as camping, a playground, swimming, geocaching. However every time we are there, there are either so many people.. (for the small beach it is) or the water is filled with dead fish about 5 feet out.

One of my favorite places to enjoy the beach in the summer, the hiking trails all year long, snowshoe in winter and just hang out at the park and read or journal. Grandkids love it.
