Story

Kochin Kitchen was born from the passion of three guys (all hail from the state of Kerala), who loves to cook and enjoy food. More importantly, from three guys who believe in Quality and Service. With that in mind, we shaped the Kochin Kitchen entity, and promised each other to strive for the two main aspects, without compromising value.

At Kochin Kitchen, we take Quality and Service very seriously. For this reason, we invite your comments: whether it be on the food, environment or the staff. We had both Veg/Non-Veg, the taste is really good and we didn’t have any complaints. Taste of mango lassi and lime juice are of different taste, but its good and both the chicken and sea food are fresh, we didn’t feel like its kind of old/frozen ones. would highly recommend this place. The place is clean, staffs are very nice and they explained the dishes to patiently which helps us to decide. Seems like we need to have reservation but we got the table for our lunch.
The food was delicious. Been to different Indian and I love the deversity of their menu. My spouse ordered a mix curry dishe and I got the coconut gravy lamb. I definitely recommend coming here and trying anything on their menu. Such a nice experience.
Great south Indian food served here. Very courteous service. Staff is amazing. Food tastes great. Dum biryani was one of the item ordered, we found that it didn't taste like authentic biryani at all. We loved the mango lassi. Food quantity is bit less for the price you pay when compared to other south Indian food restaurants.
Amazing restaurant with great Keralite Food! Their Parotta and chicken curry is amazing. I loved the Prawns Kochi curry too. Digest everything with some warm comforting sweet Paysum.
Visited the place for dinner and the food was very good. I needed hot food on a snowy day and this place provided that comfort hot food I needed. Service was good. Servers were hospitable and quick. It was a nice and quiet place and I was able to enjoy my meal there.
The food was pretty good the veg thali is a fair portion for the price, but I have to say the service is poor. It is obvious that they are understaffed - it's a Thursday night during the holidays and there were about 10 tables in the restaurant waiting to order, to get bills, needing to be cleaned etc. You need another server! Ours was nice and was clearly working hard, but it was just really slow overall which killed the experience; they served 3/4 people at our table and it took 10 minutes to get the final persons meal - awkward. Overall it was an okay experience, I'm just not sure I'd want to go back if it was that slow again. Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms not accessible - down a staircase.
Kochin kitchen was really good! We were traveling from Virginia to Ottawa and wanted to find a spot for some kerala food and Kochin Kitchen didn't disappoint. Tried the Parotta, Lamb Kuruma and the Beef Fry and all of them were good. The parotta was pretty big so choose the number of parottas wisely. The beef fry was really tasty, fried to perfection with copious amount of dry coconut flakes! Lamb kuruma was also on spot. They offered kingfisher for beer which I tried as well. Parking is on the street so depending on how crowded the area is, it maybe a struggle. We were lucky enough to get a spot right outside. Saw some reviews where they were complaining about how this doesn't cater for all south indian food, which doesn't make any sense granted the name is Kochin Kitchen and not another-Generic-dosa restaurant. Visited the place yesterday. First of all I wanna announce it as the best south Indian restaurant in Ottawa. A must Try. The sambhar was awesome. We ordered Masala Dosa, Vada and Sevaiya. All the items were exceptional. And what makes it a Five star is the vibe of the place and great customer service.
A small and neat restaurant. Well maintained and staffs are friendly. Chicken 65 was awesome but quantity was small. Chicken Briyani was excellent. We loved it. The veg thali was also good. Quantity was right. Had to wait for sometime for the food to be served. Perhaps it’s made to order. I would highly recommend this place for nice authentic South Indian food.
Delicious well-made scrumptious authentic South Indian food. This ambience isn’t fancy but the food and service are excellent. The staff were really attentive and kind. They checked on us regularly. We stuck to vegetarian Indian food and it was delicious. We never once felt rushed and spent a great evening here. Will be back.
