Knuckles

Absolutely fabulous food & service. This menu, in a more upscale setting, would be Michelin star worthy. I had two staunch meat eaters at the table, who were a bit apprehensive about an all veggie menu. They LOVED it. We took the whole menu with 4 people, there was not one dish that we didn't like. Very friendly service as well, reasonably priced. Just, stay away from the wines if you like wine and know anything about it. Don't say I didn't warn you:-.

We finally visited this place after my friend kept recommending it. We were a group of 6 and opted for the blind tasting menu. They served us 2 course of meals to share and we were able to try almost their entire menu. Everything was amazing, my personal favorite was the smoked squash stuffed pasta. I highly recommend it!

Honestly one of the best places to eat in the entire world. I loved that the staff were so willing to let me be adventurous and just help choose a few things for me. Every dish was divine and the ambience is like a date night made in heaven with rustic shabby chic, cool lighting and an open kitchen and intimate family feel. It’s a little further out of the way for a traveller but absolutely make it part of your trip if you can. Also don’t miss the knuckles. Think of a cross between a pasty, pizza and an empanada but way way better:. Also nice choice of wines and beers at not too wild prices so easily accessible. If it hadn’t been closed for Christmas I would have come back again in the same trip it was that good. One of a kind, don’t miss it.

This place was recommended by a friend. When we tried it for the first time, it was so much better than expected! Each dish had its own unique taste. It was fun to try out the blind menu, there was so much variety in the flavors and textures. I'm a huge fan of mushroom, so the "Matsutake" was my favourite. You can find a wide selection of wines. Service was impeccable. The dessert Parfait was not overly sweet and made you left the restaurant with a satisfaction and comfortness! I highly recommend!

We excitedly visited knukles on a Saturday night. It's a very small place with a kitchen open on the dinning room, few tables and the wine fridges at the back. Given that the kitchen is open and quite close to the tables, the temperature in the dinning room was quite hot and full of kitchen aromas. We started with selecting wine and were surprised to see that they only had 2 bubbly offering ... nonetheless we settled for a crémant d'Alsace that was quite good. When it come to the food, as we browsed through the entirely vegetarian menu we were surprised to notice that almost 100% of dishes on the menu had cheese. That left us a bit perplexed as we're were expecting the vegetarian flavors to shine whereas cheese can serve as a taste enhancer or camouflage. We decided to go for the blind tasting menu as recommended by our hostess which consisted of 6 to 7 small dishes to share. The first one was the knukles, their namesake specialty which is a panzerotto with tomato and cheese.  The knukles we were served were extremely salty to the point that we could not finish them. We did a quick mention to the hostess who simply continued to pick up the plates with not additional comment. Next up were arrancini and a corn bread dish, again interesting flavor profile but both quite salty. We then had the second serving consisting of 4 dishes: lettuce, backed cabbage, cavatelli and spaghetti, all involving lots of cheese and an extreme amount of salt which prevented us from enjoying much of the dishes. At the end of the meal we mentioned again the issue with the extreme salt level to the hostess and she said it is a comment they get often, so we asked what was being done about it in the kitchen and she simply shrugged her shoulders. Overall I like the flavor profile plates but the level of saltiness and the regular reccurence of cheese made this meal difficult for me to enjoy.

We ordered vegan options. Really enjoyed the vegan tartelette - very comforting for the winter and interesting flavours. The cavatelli was fresh and the nutritional yeast sauce was good but I wasn’t blown away by the dish - especially compared to how good the tart is. We were also recommended some very pleasant wines. The staff cares a lot about the dishes and providing a great dining experience and I really appreciate that! I would recommend ordering 3 sharing plates for a light dinner and more if you’re hungry. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very comforting and warm. It can get a little loud since it’s a cosy space.

A must go to resto in Montreal. Seasonal ever changing menu with a focus on sustainably, ethically, and locally sourced ingredients. Every visit here is an absolute treat. The staff work with so much passion and you taste it in every bite. They even come out to the table and explain every step in the process down to the smallest details should you want to know about it. The service staff really make you feel at home and help you navigate the frequently changing wine list to find the perfect bottle or bottles to make your night special. I suggest anyone who enjoys food put Knuckles at the top of their list and do not skip out on the namesake menu item “Knuckles” Panzerotti.

The restaurant is small, cozy and adorable. I didn't even realize it was a vegetarian restaurant until after we left. The Knuckles are too too good. I loved the brussel sprouts. The pasta was great too. I normally hate mushrooms - but I ate them at Knuckles and actually liked them. The owner came by and explained every item we ordered. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his business and what they do.

Got this amazing place recommended and I'm so glad we went! The whole place has the beautiful home-like welcoming vibe and staff goes above and beyond with smile and lovely attitude. Food is like from different world, paired with perfect choices of wine. If you ever think of going, PLEASE DO, because you won't regret. Thank you again for everything.

Such a gem of a restaurant run by some of the best and most passionate people. Each dish has so much attention to detail and always impresses. Wine and cocktails are also on point Jalopeno!. Above and beyond one of my favorite places.
