Kishu River is a Vietnamese run restaurant that serves sushi, pho and robata. Nigiri is not the freshest. They taste kind of frozen. Don't order the salmon nigiri, they use a thin piece of smoked salmon instead of real salmon sashimi. However, I've had their bento boxes several times, and they're quite a good deal. For around $10, you get chicken or beef teriyaki on rice, california roll, salad, miso soup and 4 or 5 piece tempura. Their teriyaki soba is good as well. Just stick to the hot foods and avoid the nigiris. Kishu River needs an update on the interiors of the restaurant though.
I had delivery, the lady was friendly, it was my 1st time ordering from here. The oysters were delicious, the toro sashimi wasn't the best I've had, the chopped scallop rolls were tasty. The BC rolls were pretty good, and it was all fresh. I also ordered combo #3, and it's a lot of sushi! Overall, pretty good I'd order again from here
THIS PLACE HAS CLOSED DOWN...IT HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A SUPERIOR SUSHI RESTAURANT CALLED AJI SUSHI OR SUSHI AJI, CAN'T REMEMBER!. I'm on a budget these days so I don't eat out as often as I do. And when I do go out to get my "fix" of sushi, I am very conscious of price. Well, Kishu River is one of the best deals around. After 7pm, they have a special menu of select items that are 40% off the regular prices which are not dear to begin with! This is truly a great deal. I regularly order a california roll, a negitoro roll, and another roll I forget the name...and the bill is about $6.50! You really can't beat it. The quality is not AAA but then I don't expect it to be at those prices. But for what you pay, the quality is excellent, tasty, and very passable...and satisfying. I have on occasion also ordered the tempura, and there's 6 or 7 different variety to choose from. And the tempura is one of the items that is 40% off as well. And it is not the worst tempura I've had.
Looking for essential sushi in a family ran business, this was the right place. I had a Combo 1 and a Combo 2 and i was satisfied with my choice. I would recommend though. Price fair, service essential. i'll be there again for some other specialties.
The sushi rolls and udon noodle soup were excellent and the prices can't be beat! Lots of veggies and noodles in the soup! The sushi was fresh and nicely prepared. The service was friendly and efficient. Try the chocolate dessert!
Fantastic! Living right around the corner from the place is pretty great, good prices, amazing selection of different kinds of Sushi, sashimi, Donburi and Tofu! I've gotten Salmon sashimi every time and I'm never disappointed in Flavour and in Presentation. So if youre looking for some Tasty Japanese Food for cheap you won't be disappointed here.
Not fresh, some of the food was pretty old like the wasabi. Sometimes I wonder if the utensils and bowls were sanitary. It kinda felt gross. If you want Japanese food, avoid this place and go somewhere else. Although the service is good but the food was bad.
I usually order takeout from here and it's great but my boyfriend and I came to sit in and everything was awful our glasses were dirty so we drank out of our beer bottles he got his food 30 mins before I got mine, the food was absolutely disgusting and I would advise you NOT to eat here. Absolutely revolting.
If you order from this restaurant You will regret, 100%. Ordered nigiri sushi and rolls . Fish is not fresh, color was brown originally red color. Disgusting and weird fishy smell and taste, like it has gone bad from both roll and nigiri sushi. By first time customer
went here with a few friend today, the food was great but service was horrible, the waitress took forever to bring us our drinks, a person came in and order take out and got her order and paid before we even got our drinks. and at the end of our meal, the waitress interrogated me on to why i didn't tip her more than i did. i can't believe a waitress would do that, it was rude and unprofessional, we will not be coming back, due to how rude the server was. seriously who asked that!!
